I can't stop the kids eating it. If there are any crisps, pork pie, fruit juice or mandarins actually left by the time Christmas day comes around I shall be amazed.

But I can't be arsed to get up at 6:00am on Christmas Eve to go shopping again so they'll just have to go without.

My Mum always managed to stop us from eating the xmas food. The key was fear.

Yeah - Dads don't seem to be able to wield the same threatening air.

Ah - I think we have a slight misunderstanding of ages and height here ...... mine are 19, 21 and 23 !!! (though I am taller than two of them).

All my Christmas snacks are on top of the fridge, the kids haven't noticed them yet.

Try a bit of discipline. My daughter has left all the Xmas food alone because she was told to.

Have read that they're 19, 21 and 23, so am slightly giggling. sorry...

Simple solution, give them a list, and point them in the direction of the supermarket and get them to re=stock the supplies. Have a Merry Christmas.

I have kids of a similar age. I say, once it's gone, it's gone and I won't be buying any more. I also say I have to be consulted before anything is eaten.

That used to by my mantra when they were little and it was sweetie day (once a week).

Funny thing is my 21 yr old sometimes still makes me say it before she will eat a treat. 'Say the words.....'.

I find it works because when push comes to shove, they don't want to be spending time queueing up in supermarkets. I do have to remind them every single year though, which is frustrating. Mind you the worst offender is my husband .
