Cinema peanuts
Our local cinema does these really nice peanuts. I've found the same ones in Asda, I think they're called chilli coated crispy peanuts. Anyway, at the cinema they're really nice and hot.
Does anyone know how you can heat up peanuts so they're like the cinema ones ?

Becareful if you put them in a glass bowl in the microwave. I did that, took the bowl out, put it on the counter. a second later it exploded!!!
You could try microwaving on low power in a plastic container. Becarefult those as because of the makeup of them they tend to trap heat inside the coating and could give you a nasty burn. Alternative is to stick em in the oven for a few minutes. |

It wasn't a pyrex bowl. Just a glass dessert bowl. I've used it many times before in the microwave to heat sauces or melt butter etc.
Something was definately up with these nuts though as they were sparking like if you put metal in. They also were steaming and some were scorched. They were only in about 15 secs as when I heard the sparks I stopped the cooking. It was lucky that I put the bowl on the counter immediately as it could have exploded in the palm of my hand. |

I would definitely say to heat them slowly in the oven. |

My local corner shop has just started selling Sahara nuts that come in a box like a ready meal would. Pierce the top, bung it in the micro and they're ready shortly after. They're bloody nice, but they aren't the same as when you're in a pub!
