http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/deal...ssion/1111779/ One post says: "VLC media player, as well as most other players do not play .plv files. file converters (most) do not see the format .plv," On the other hand, if it is a movie/programme that the OP has obtained from PlayOn surely it's available from other sites in a standard format that can be converted /burned to DVD. It seems that these downloads from PayOn are not intended to be converted, never mind burned to DVD but watched only on the PC Which is why I have asked the OP (by PM) which movie/programme it is and where it was downloaded from |

No I am still here but with downloading all these different programes I got a virus and have spent the last 2 days trying to get rid of the virus. I have now. So I can now get back to this.
I have my download videos but still can not get them onto a DVD. Is there a programe that will convert and then burn onto a DVD in one programme than 2 sperate programes? |

BUT as stated several times *if* these are .plv files downloaded from PlayOn they were never meant to be/cannot be converted. See posts 34, 38, 44, 51 52 As regards AVS Video Converter crashing - again *if* it's a .plv file the program does nor recognise/handle .plv. Here's a list of supported files http://onlinehelp.avs4you.com/AVS-Vi...edformats.aspx It's being assumed that this is a .plv file as that's what you said in post 39. Is there no other version of this file available (i.e .avi/.mkv.DivX) that will be handled by conversion programs? |

The problem appears to be that the file format used by your downloads has encryption and there is no program which can convert them to a suitable format to put them on DVD.
You could fluff around trying to recapture the video either by screen grabbing utility or output via video card and recapturing but do you really want to do that ? |

DeVeDe will convert .flv files into dvd .iso images very easily. They can then be burned to disc with any burning programme you like. If you can't figure out how to use DeVeDe in a few minutes then you're a lost cause. ![]() There's a tutorial on YouTube. |

This INVALID FLOATING POINT OPERATION could mean that the file (or part of it) is corrupt and may explain why no program that has been advised or that you have tried is working. Try downloading the file again from a different source if possible and maybe a different format. |

It also said that I have two options one is to select the correct webservice or select a web service from a list of installed programes. I selcted the first one and it said File Type: BZ2 Compressed File File Extension: .bz2 Description: Bzip files generally contain a single file that has been compressed and packaged into an archive file. Software or information available at: BZ2 Compressed File WinZip BitZipper You may search the following Web site for related software and informati |

http://www.freemake.com/free_video_converter/
When I try this one it says "Downloading installation files failed" click finish to download files manually from our site which I tried but also did not work. Does anyone know what I can do to make them work? Or maybe a different burner and convertor? Or would someone be willing to let me call them and somone can talk me though this as I am not really getting anywhere and have been trying for many days now

I thought I almost had it but after waiting 3 hours for it to convert my videos it then said "Cannot create burninmg process disk size smaller than DVD size please insert a larager disk and then press ok?
What does this mean? Or maybe I could just half the number of videos and use two seperate disks? |

So I then put in another of the same blank disks and it said Cannot create burning process unknown or unsupported disk. Which I dont understand as its the exact same type of disk as the other one?

So now some of the files are FLV?.
OK OP, download this: http://www.vso-software.fr/products/convert_x_to_dvd/ This is only for a test, as that program costs money, but it will allow us to test what you are doing and maybe get a better idea of what is going wrong. Click on the FREE DOWNLOAD link. You'll get a pop up box, save the file to your computer somewhere where you'll remember where to find it. Once downloaded, run the program installer and follow the instructions to install it. Once installed, reboot your computer. Now load the program. Insert a blank DVD into your DVD writer. In ConvertX, click on FILE and then ADD VIDEO FILES. Locate your FLV file and load it into the program. Don't do anything else at this stage. You should see it appear in the left hand window to confirm it has been loaded into convertx. Now click CONVERT, and wait a while. Convertx will, by default, convert and then burn the file to DVD. If you have any problems then I would suggest the problem is down to you, or your compiuter. Convertxtodvd handles almost any non copy protected file format (including FLV), and uses it's own internal codecs so it doesn't need you to play around with installing different audio or video codecs (which some of the freeware programs need and could be part of your problem). If it works, that's likely to be the issue. If it doesn't, then YOU are doing something wrong or YOUR computer has a problem as I've never known anyone have so many problems with so many different DVD conversion/burning programs. Take your time, do each step one at a time, and don't rush. Note down any error messages and let us know if you still have problems. |

In post 33 ( 5 days ago) you said:"DeVeDe has installed, what do I do next to burn a video to DVD do you know?" but today you're saying: "OK I tried to download the first one and it said "windows can not open this file"" |

After trying all the free and built-in software under the sun to create a DVD slideshow with menus without success, I finally gave in and ordered Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD 10 Platinum from Amazon
