7/10 for me now- better plots, more excitement. Still a bit rough around the edges, but overall, not bad, not bad at all!

And by the way, this is how you would rate the current storylines and everything, not the show as a whole!

Around 7/8. The Tanya cancer reveal was EE at its finest for me. The stalker stuff isn't too my liking as I feel it will be ruined by an obvious character, but I am soo loving the buildup to christmas!

watching eastenders lately for the last couple of months has been brilliant once that awful eddie moon had left its been great. David Essex could not act and his constant screen time and the episode of him and the moon brothers was just painful to watch, and i'm not even a moon hater i like michael, tyler and anthony. since he left, its flown better and seems intresting. Bryan Kirkwood is no where near as bad as people make out, its just he put Eddie moon to the forefront of the show for like 4 months and was possible the worst character and storyline.

I've rated it eight. A few weeks ago I thought the run up to Christmas was going to be poor but with Phil's past coming back to haunt him, the Masood story, Jean becoming unstable and the return of Bianca it has come together superbly.
I don't care who the stalker is. At this point it has no relevance for me ..it has just been a great way to re-visit the past and ties in so well with Pat and her nostalgia over Frank.

4/10, it's an improvement but that's to be expected anyway at this time of year.

7/10 hasn't been brilliant but hasn't been awful either.

To be honest, IMO, rating each episode a 10 is ridiculous. EastEnders has never been consistently flawless in terms of quality. It's been close to that and has had a few 10/10 episodes but certainly not over a monthly period. As if Zainab would allow herself to be manipulated like that. Why are Mo, Kat and Alfie making Jean take the blame? Would the old Kat've done that? Where exactly is Kamil? Those factors alone prove to me why the current EE isn't a 10/10.

How would you rate the current EE?
4. It's been dreadful all year and although I'm now enjoying the Yusef plot that's not good enough, considering how dreadfully-written, unrealistic, dull and stupid this plot has been.

This Mo/Jean/Kat/Alfie stupidity is getting on my nerves, too. Don't those "writers" have a heart? Why would they let Jean take the blame? Would Kat really've done that?

4. Still at a very mediocre standard and without a shadow of doubt 2011 has been EastEnders' worst ever year. Absolutely dreadful. Dire. Not a single redeeming quality about it. I won't be giving up on the show any time soon but I want to see EastEnders how it was for most of the first 20 years or, at the very minimum, late 2007 standards: nothing in the calibre of 1985-2005 but still thoroughly enjoyable and exciting.

All in all, 2011 has been a 1/10, but right now a 4/10. Mediocre but watchable. (2008/2009 standards.)

Rant over.

In my opinion, I think that Eastenders is at the top of it's game right now. The Zainab/Yusef/Masood storyline is coming to a good climax and I reckon we are in for a cracking christmas day episode. I scored a 9/10
