GSM Calls
Party Animal
24-12-2011
Hi
I know zero about Tablets so please forgive my stupidity
I have an Android HTC Desire mobile and love the whole Android way of doing things
my wife has a Samsung Galaxy 2 which is a really great phone I love it
I am at an age where my eyesight is not great and use my phone for surfing and sat nav (all the time) and dont make too many calls

so set my mind of getting a Samsung Galaxy Note which looks fantastic however while waiting and searching for a 'good' deal' on the 'Note'
I last night read that the HTC Flyer 7" tab has just been heavily discounted and though not a dual core device still looks like a good machine
thinking it would make normal GSM telephone calls the same as a normal mobile

apparently not the 3G version is for Data and not calls which rules it out of my thinking

but the more I think about a 7" tab the more I like the idea of the bigger screen

so my question is are there any current Tabs around 7" preferably running Android that will actually make a normal telephone call (not Skype)
and I really have no clue about rooting and applying hacks etc to make it work as I know it would go tits up the second I touch it
so an out of the box solution is what I am looking for either out now or upcoming devices

thanks
sorry for such a long winded post
Chris

I'm pretty sure that there isn't anything like that. To be honest the best way probably to get a tablet that you like and get a cheap £10 mobile for calls.

Thanks Alan
I carried on searching round after posting this and came across an upcoming samsung 7.7" tablet that does do phone calls and it looks like a great machine

my trouble is my eyes have me squinting and straining at my HTC Desire text and I saw the Galaxy Note and its far easier to read than mine and I was set on getting one till I started reading about these Tablets

as I make so few calls and use it for more graphic stuff such as sat nav and lots of internet surfing the more I like the sound of these tabs

and on top of that my current sim has unlimited data and lots of mins etc which I really dont want to lose hence me changing from the note to a tablet

thanks for replying as well
Chris
