Kindle refusing wifi connection
Tourista

Hi, sorry if this problem has been done to death previously, but wonder if anyone has the answer....

Just got my Kindle, but cannot set it up with my Sky wifi router as it says that the password is incorrect. Have tried the Amazon site, and Sky too, but dont have the answer.

Anyone has this problem, and how do you work around it?.

Put the correct password in.

Are you using the correct case?, passwords are case sensitive.

There is no workaround. If it says the password is incorrect then it is.

If that router works in the same way as others then you need the network password, which is different to the network name and also different to the router admin password. In theory it should either be in the router's documentation if it was left at the default during setup, or you should have written it down somewhere if you had to set it yourself. In theory

If you haven't changed it then it will be written on the back of the router. If you haven't changed the SSID then make sure you are trying to pair it to the correct router.

You may have to change the security protocol on your Sky router to the next one down. If that fails, simply temporarily disable security and you'll connect just fine.

SSID = Service Set Identifier = wireless network name. Apologies if that you knew that but my guess is that not many people do.

Again, obvious to experts, when the router lists the networks it detects that will probably also include several neighbours' networks and you need to make sure to select your network.
