If you are going to announce such news then please please make sure in future you have a reliable source (which Twitter is certainly not, real accounts or not). A check on any official news site before starting a thread would have been sensible as news like this would be quick to appear on official channels.
Sometimes peolple care more about the kudos of being the first to start a thread rather than the actual story.
