The flashbacks dealing with Reg's death did leave me a bit sad and feeling sorry for the kids (and Madge), but I was positive that everything would be OK in the end. No way a Christmas episode was going to end with the kids staring the reality of their Dad's death full in the face.
The last bit, with Amy and Rory, was nice. But if anyone cried at THAT, then that's just silly. But their unshakable faith that the Doctor would stay for dinner with them was touching, I guess.”
That was the problem with it - there was no real tension or fear that things would not turn out to be fine.
