I recently watched a programme about this old chap who was a compulsive hoarder and consequently had a house full of old magazines and stuff that he never read but wanted to hang onto all the same.

Whilst not in the same league by any stretch of the imagination i do have a large collection of old sci fi magazines going back to the early 90's that i havent read in years that i want to get rid of.

I've set myself a new years resolution of attempting to scan the pages that i want to keep, but at the same time the thought of just putting these magazines out for recycling seems just WRONG.

It's not even a money thing, but i just wondered (apart from the obvious EBAY route) has anyone got any ideas (clean) about what i can do with my hoard of magazines.

Check with your local university to see if they have a Science Fiction society. That's where I got rid of a bunch of old comics and magazines, without feeling like i was just throwing them away.

Oh, should say I had a bunch of old 2000ADs from about the second year onwards but they weren't in great nick and the price you get on Ebay just wasn't worth the time it would take to list them. Your mileage may vary.

Is there a Forbidden Planet near you? They may be interested in taking them off your hands. There are a few other simiar shops that aren't an nationwide chain that could be interested.
Thee are a few in London, one in Norwich and Sheffield that i can think of.

I suppose depending on the age range you could donate the comics or possibly magazine to a local children's hospital or something like that.
