When will Lilly Allen return to music?
She said that she will retire from performing and writing under her own name and will concentrate on fashion but that was nearly two years ago now. I know she's had personal problems and will want to focus on her new baby but I really miss her!
When do you think it will all become clear? |

I'd love her to return to music, and I think she will in some shape or form, but I think she'll be a lot more selective with her projects, and I'm not expecting anything in the near future from her.
Which is a shame actually, because both albums are great, with Alright,Still being particularly amazing. |

She says she never will, but that would be the definition of a travesty.

As vile as she is as a person, her songs were very enjoyable and she was actually a very unique, distinctive song writer with her own style. I also liked her voice - very limited, not much of a singer, but she always sounds light, agile and soft. It's a pleasant sound.
I'd love to hear her return to music, but I somehow don't think she will. |

I love Lily and hope she does....she is very "marmite"...i like that
She is not afraid to speak her mind, she is already an established cult icon in the music industry for her imapct in British Music...love her or hate her you cannot deny it really.Alright Still is.....well sounding pretty epic almost 6 years on and Its Not Me, Its You was such an immense break out of the mould and again...was an immense album. So i do hope that in the future she will return....she is a new mum now and i think will focus a lot on her family life....but i do think within the next 5 years or so she will announce she is ready to record a third studio album

I was shocked two years ago when Lily Allen said she was retiring from music. I mean, she must have worked hard to get a contract and to become a professional singer, so to quit after a couple of albums shocked me. She was successful too and had good commercial success and a unique style. Surely she hasn't made that much money from just two albums that she can live on the rest of her life? Although she may be doing side projects to make money, I'm not sure.
I do think she'll return though. I think 2013 we might see her return... |

I'd like for her to stay true to her word, but as someone said above she'll be back to top up her bank balance in the next few years.

She did two great albums and I think she is a very good songwriter. I reckon she will return to music. Other ventures she has gone into have never had the same great effect her music has had. |

If she genuinely cared about music she would never have left in the first place. She's just another female manipulator who made a pile quickly by writing gimmicky, rather ordinary material with a bit of humour included - a bit like Kate Nash, who's more quirky and amusing as well as a proper musician..

Never understand why posters who 'hate' a particular artist post on threads about said artist. If i actually hated Lily Allen i doubt i would click on a thread with her name and waste my time with a passive aggressive comment. Not a HUGE fan of hers but i think shes good. I also think the saying about there being a fine line between love and hate is so true!

Her claims of retiring from music were undoubtedly the same kind of attention seeking as her revolting, saggy tit baring shenanigans on the toxic BBC3 show that represented her equally odious personality. |

As far as im concerned she was only ever on hiatus to have babies etc and be ''normal'' for a while she even joked a few months back of releasing a country album its an inevitability and will happen in a year or so when she gets bored of nappies and the country
![]() And as others have noticed like her or not she did have a huge impact on music her along with Amy helped kick start the British female songwriter movement |
