Playstation Vita - with two Apple A5's + Super Amoled Plus.

I noticed that Argos are now taking orders no for the new £229 Sony Playstation Vita.

Its very much iPad 2 chippery inside and essentially has two Apple A5s and a 5" Super AmoLed Plus 960 × 544 screen.

It as "three motion sensors, gyroscope, accelerometer and electronic compass".

New Year I was expecting a souped up 5" iPod touch to appear. Yet this gadget leaves me wondering if we will just see an iPad 3 with very similar internals to teh above.

The Vita also leaves out Adobe Flash and only offers GPS with the 3G version.
"Social networking apps, such as Facebook, Skype, Twitter, and foursquare, will be available to download for PlayStation Vita free of charge from the PlayStation Store."

Nice finding! Seems like you have spent some time analyzing the specs. Though they seem to look alike, I don't think they will compete with each other as they are two different set of products.

I recall making an OP post about the Samsung Galaxy S2 when it came out too.
That got near zero comments too.

Whilst this device is just a bigger iPod and the 3G version an amazing but lumpy big iPhone, it is certainly the first device hitting the same territory.
I like that it is unpretentiously what others gadgets are actually pretending not to be. This one is apparently pretending not to be a phone when obviously gadgets are very much converging.

The screen on this thing is far better than on the Nexus.

The replacement for the PSP had been eagerly awaited in this household. Shame it doesn't have a 3D screen like the Nintendo.

They've got a lot of work to do to catch up iOS and Android for handheld gaming market share. http://www.gizmocrazed.com/2011/11/i...gaming-market/
