Amy Winehouse

Just browsing youtube. And stumbled upon the Jools Holland tribute to Amy. Flipping hell, I'm not sure I realised how good she was. Her voice is incredible and soulful.

The 2007 Mercury performance is heartbreakingly beautiful.

I agree to an extent, but my opinion of her is pretty mixed. There are times when I think she sounds quite sincere and where I like her voice and warm to it, but then there are other times when I don't get that. Her diction can also be bad enough to get in the way sometimes imo. She's got a good voice though.

While her intonation and interpretation are passable on some songs she mostly has a grating voice.

Such a talent. Gone too soon.

Or as the Daily Mash correctly put it, "sounds like a goose being forced arse first into a trombone"

I like her voice, it's soulful.I guess she has a unique tone (she's not the only one who has it, but it's not common for mainstream artists), so I understand that she can't be everyone's cup of tea, but saying she sounds like "a goose being forced arse first into a trombone" is too far-fetched.

Yeah, thinking about it, geese didn't deserve that.

I agree
Fair enough if you don't like her, but to deny talent is so ignorant
There are several artists i am not fond of but i never deny the talent or impact they had
