The actor Pedro Armendariz Jr died of cancer today. He was 71. While he was in the 007 film Licence to Kill (his father Pedro Armendariz Snr also appeared in a Bond film, From Russia with Love). He also had roles in The Legend of Zorro and The Magnificent Seven Ride.

President Hector Lopez.

IMDb list over 200 roles for this actor, mostly in Mexican films and TV shows. Being in a Bond film seems to be a career-defining moment for him and so many others.

Never heard of him. I can't actually ever remember watching Licence To Kill.

I've seen them all but had to check the synopsis on IMDb. The Brosnan ones don't use Fleming's titles so it's hard to place who the villain was or what the plot was.

Can the mods change the title of this thread to "Guy who had a small-to-medium part in one of the less popular Bond films dies" please?

How long was he in the film for? I don't even remember a President in the film.

His father played Kerim Bay in From Russia with Love and was so in pain from cancer that straight after the film was completed he committed suicide.

Pedro Armendariz Sr -

One of the many tragic cancer deaths associated with the Howard Hughes film "The Conqueror", which was filmed near to the US nuclear testing site in Utah.

The list includes both stars John Wayne and Susan Hayward, Agnes Moorhead and Director Dick Powell. By 1981, 91 of the crew of 220 had developed or died from cancer or it's effects. Even John Wayne's sons, who visited their father on the set of the film had cancer scares.

This is seen as almost epedemic standards by some medical scientists.

(Sorry to wander off topic)

The flim will have lots of cuts as it's a 15 rated movie but it's been shown in the afternoon before.

Just watched it. Was quite surprised to see Felix get his leg eaten by a shark.
