[quote=blomes;55581925]Oh boy-o, you sound like Mr Cheeseman from Dad's Army and I claim my ten pounds! ....
Gene Hunt quote - the gravy thing. I have a degree in Psychology so would suggest an attempt at cheese sauce for the American smooth and for the showdances, Things to do with parsley. Both males and females would take part. |

Providing that they slap on a mustard poultice as well then of course. You cant be too careful.
I also recommend chutney for the tango - preferably mango. The salsa of course is self explanatory. You could check all of this in the SCD cookbook entitled, ' How We Cook It All'. It's an equal opportunities publication ie there are pictures for male readers, instead of text beginning with, ' First Find The Kitchen'. I particularly like ' Ola's Spicy Surprise', ' Robin Windsor soup' and the section on preparing a moose for the table. The chapter on fruits is of course, the most extensive. |

For all those concerned that Craig and Bruno should not be subjected to the odd 'gay' remark; perhaps if Craig refrained from camping it up and calling everyone 'Darling' and if Bruno stopped pursing his lips and salivating at every young 'hunk' there may be some sympathy for your comments.
From what I can see, they seem to revel in it.

Blimey, it really is 1974, isn't it?? 'Most men' have no issue with modern women. Unless of course they're scared of women. |

Is that another double entendre?
But for all the budding Harriet Harmans on this thread; I trust that you have all made a New Year's resolution - and that is to go through life as you would if you were a ballroom dancer! And the golden rule for ballroom dancers is that the woman must always follow the man!!! You know it makes sense. ![]() Happy New Year. |

It's amazing nowadays what people can read into a simple observation!

You must have a vivid imagination Madam Sofakat. And your assumptions are so very much wide of the mark that they hint of post-menopausal penis-envy. Perhaps you spend too much time on the sofa admiring the virile Mr Forsyth. Ah well, it takes all sorts.
//\\ Don't do it Sofakat, just leave him in his little Terry & June heaven when men were men and women wore frilly pinnies. Or do I mean Ronnie Corbett as Timothy Lumsden? I forget - must be that post-menopausal memory loss. Now, where did I put that bazooka??? |

The seed catalogues will be coming in presently so there'll be some peace, as loads of similar types willl be out in their potting sheds, excited about watching something tiny coming up in the spring.

I think this all goes some way to defining why I find Brucie tedious, boring and ready for retirement: the humour is so elderly. There's no real wit, there's no smart humour... it's all nudge nudge... weak weak.
I don't think Bruce is capable of anything different and that is why I'd prefer him to go. Not ageist, just that his "humour" and presenting style has proved utterly fixed in ancient history. I really hope the new producer has a strong broom and a loud voice capable of shouting down the chinless wonders who believe there is a huge crowd of 120 fans who would bring down the Governmink unless Broocie were allowed to dodder on into series 12 - 15. Perhaps we could do with a new Governmink - we could most certainly do without Old Father Time Brucie. |

It's all a bit "are you being served" and I really couldn't stand that either...
However that isn't my main issue with Bruce. I know he's been around a long time and they try to portray him as some kind of British Institution but really he should have been put out to grass at least 20 years ago. Watching him constantly stumbling over lame jokes week on week really detracts from the show for me. I by far prefer it on the result show where at least Tess can get through a line without making a complete pigs ear of it... |

Far better than so called modern presenters. Time peeps realised that a large chunk of the audience are there as Brucie is. beyond these forums Bruce is very very popular and he will be staying for this year at least.

Maybe they realised that lots of the posts came from young people who don't yet pay the licence fee but who don't want to see anyone over forty on tv .
Or maybe the producers can't find anyone else other than Vernon Kay or similar. They probably don't want to dumb it down that, much ? Or maybe they do. The thread started a discussion about campery. I'd sort that out first before culling Bruce plus various pro dancers. |
