Short answer, you wont. MS Office is for Windows based OS and iPad runs on iOS.

Looking ahead tho.... Microsoft Reportedly 'Actively Working' on Office for iPad and Mac App Store. So your going to need to get an alternative in the mean time.

You can't put MS Office on it, whether you have it on disc or not. The iPad does not run Windows or OS X.

There is an office suite available though which can read and edit MS Office files, Apple's "iWork":

Pages (word processor)

Numbers (spreadsheets)

Keynote (presentations)

There are some alternative apps which are slightly cheaper than Apple's iWork apps, but they don't have as good reviews.

A search of the App Store found one app which is free, but again it doesn't have great reviews, plus the functionality seems very limited from the description.

If you want decent office apps, you need to pay.

I think I know the answer to this question however what the hell.... Any chance of picking these three up as a bundle for less than the sum of the individual prices....?

I've been fiddling around with that and the IPad presents a mobile and standard desktop version. The desktop version crashes and I haven't tried the mobile version yet. However would Apple really be pulling out the stops to offer a Google product when they are trying to push ICloud......

The mobile version just captures text without any formatting. The desktop version is as it says although very flakey. I'm sure Apple are in no hurry to fix it.....
