Even if had children between his first appearance and going to prison, he must have had almost nothing to do with their upbringing and they'll have been raised by their mother and someone else. Taking all of this into account, any hypothetical children would be younger than Abbi, and thus very limited in what they'd be able to do. |

Why do certain people keep citing Derek's (fantasy) children? It was stated during his original appearance in 1996 than he had no wife or children and lived alone (or with his parents, I forget which) and he was supposed to have been in prison for ten years until recently.

1) less panto-style villains. I don't care who plays them, but as long as they don't play them panto, I'm good. For shizzle: Derek Branning could be a good character if he didn't do it so damned panto. When he's panto-menacing, I turn off. When's actually menacing, I watch because it's compelling.
So I guess... Less panto actors? |

Why has OP duplicated his own thread? Why is OP posting the same things in this thread as in the old thread?

Maybe villains in soap do become panto villains but it doesn't actually have anything to do with the actor playing the part?

I would love to see a real Londoner in the shape of the much loved Jim Davidson.
He would be a breath of fresh air with his cheeky grin. The producers could let him write some of his own lines to bring a smile to the faces of the viewers. Come on EE sign Jim asap and give us all a treat for 2012. |
