MyCurl
Tasty Delight

I am thinking of trying something new with my hair. I dropped hints to OH to get me these for Christmas, but apparently I was too stubtle and he did not realise I wanted them

I will hopefully be getting them for my birthday, but wanted to know if anybody has them and if they are any good?

Cheers

Way too much faffing for my liking. I suspect they'd get used once and chucked in a drawer. You'd get the same results in half the time with curling tongs or learning to curl with your straighteners.

Is trying to curl hair with straighteners tricky?

I've never mastered it but I know folk who do. There are tutorials on youtube that might help.

Bugger. There seem to be subtle differences in techniques.

I do it the second way and it works for me. My hair is very straight, thick and heavy though, so the curls fall out quickly even if I drown them in hairspray

I would suggest you buy a curling wand; at least with those the ends aren't effected as much as tongs or straighteners. I think the Mycurl thing wouldn't give you great curls, they don't look that great from the video really.

For curls that will last all day I would get some satin rollers or flexi rods (loads of tutorials on youtube). Your curls will be in place for a few days and it is very easy to do. The satin rollers give you gorgeous beach waves if you only put a few in. Also try looking up "no heat curls" on youtube.

Persevere using the second technique. With this thread in mind I had a quick go this morning and it did work. Now that I have the basic idea I'll try again sometime when I have time to section it all off and hairspray to hold it.I found the smaller the section you do the better a curl formation.

Yes definitely the smaller the amount of hair each time, the better the curl.

I have tried to do it with my straighteners, but not sure my hair is long enough yet

Either that or I need to keep practising
