Do you think Moffat will write for Who after his tenure as show runner has finished?

Or do you think he'll give it a clean break as RTD has?

This isn't an RTD v Moffat thread, or Moffat should be sacked thread. Just one asking what people think his future will be in relation to Who after he leaves the show.

He'll probably leave when he's run out of ideas or because he's fed up of doing it, so my guess is that he won't be involved at all after he leaves.

Having said that, I wouldn't be surprised if he (or RTD) returned to write a one-off story several years after they left.

Tbh i would love if RTD wrote a storyline in the near future during the Moff era...he wrote for Matt so effortlessly in SJA episode - Death Of The Doctor. So i do hope that when the Moff Era ends in a few decades time he will still write independant episodes in a different era of Who

I would hope both would write for Who at a later date. They both bring different elements to the stories.

As Josh said RTD wrote superbly for Matt in SJA...although I am sure a) Matt projected his version of the Dr through the script and that if Tennant had been the Dr at that point he would have projected his version through the script...but RTD will have written for Matt's version as well. I'm personally not that keen on RTD written stuff but then some people aren't keen on Moffat's but both understand Who and are good writers.

The RTD SJA (any more LTAs?) was an excellent story...for me one of his best...

Yeah..i mean i am not a massive RTD fan as such but i loved a few of his storylines. And i loved The Death of The Doctor story....just absolutely fantastic episodes! I think an independant story in a future series with Matt would be great.

Not necessarily, Terrance Dicks was script editor throughout the Jon Pertwee era and after he left that post he wrote scripts for four Tom Baker stories as well as The Five Doctors
