Anyone know if any High Street Stores offer this service at a reasonable price or if they sell the cutter? Thanks.

I doubt it,

You'd be better off just buying one of them, they're cheap

Can't you get one from your network? Apart from T-Mobile I think they all offer a free swap to a micro SIM.

Micro-sim cutting is an absolute pain in the ass! Because once cut you can never use your sim-card ever again in your non micro-sim card phone. For you to use the same sim card - now cut down - in your old phone you need to use a sim-card adapter. Only problem is, these sim card adapters aren't suitable because imo they are not the correct size because every phone is differerent so what happened to me was when i inserted the sim card adapter into my old phone, it bloody got stuck inside and wouldn't come out!

Had to take it to a repair shop and when the technician eventually removed the sim-card adapter it had damaged my phone, specifically a section of the motherboard and i had to pay £20 to get it fixed!!! I am never putting a sim card adapter in my phone ever again for fear of the same thing happening! Once you cut the card down, you're stuck with it for life! So say for example your micro-sim compatible phone gets damaged or broken and you want to revert back to your old non micro-sim compatible phone, you will need to use the sim but with it being cut down it's now become a massive headache! So get used to it never being used in your old phone unless you know for certain the sim card adapter will not get stuck!

Honestly as far as i'm concerned it's a massive pain the backside! The whole thing pisses me off!

All sim cards are the same size, I've had the same sim card for about 3 and half years in many different phones - all fine

The bit in bold you highlighted in my sentence was not referring to sim-cards, it was sim-card adapters! They're 2 separate entities.

surely all the adapters are the standard sim card size

I assume you are talking about this sort of thing

Any decent independant mobile store or even market stall trader should be able to help you out.

Anyone on Three can get a free micro sim but they cannot change you to a micro sim in store, they have to order them in. I just so happened to be in a Three store and overheard someone aslong for one.

As it happens...if you're with 3 and ask for a replacement micro SIM it comes with an adapter anyway. It does cost £5 though.

Might be a bit late but if you order a (free) PAYG Micro SIM from O2 they include an adapter with it.

Very simple solution to your problem. Cut a normal sim down to microsim size using one of those staple type cutters rather than a pen-knife or whatever. Then you are left with the "shell" of your old sim and you can use this as a sim adapter instead.

Don't try it with normal scissors because I did and it was squint and never fitted and a new micro sim was required anyway. It's not as easy a job as some think.

Best solution: Get a proper micro sim.

You can buy them on Amazon

When I got my N9 I just went into the local T-Mobile shop and they swapped my contract over to a new microsim in a few minutes. Charged me 10 quid for the privilege though.
