After recently being gripped by the EE B&B fire(s) and the chilling line "Afia's Inside" I was thinking about other classic lines and how they seem to belong to soap legends, I'm wondering whether to become a soap legend you need a classic line? Could Zainab become a legend?? Or in other soaps who are the emerging legends??

For me Characters which stand out for me would be past and present...

EE- Stacey, Pat, Dot, Jean, Kat, Peggy, Phil, Tanya, Bianca & Whitney
CS- Tracy, Becky, Liz, Gail, Carla, Frank, Kylie, David, Steve & Peter

Stacey Slater for me was just amazing throughout her time on EastEnders.. Bipolar Storyline stood out for miles, same goes to Jean, can't be easy to play her character either.

Whitney's abusive storylines were amazing

Peters alcahol problem was handled brilliantly, amazing storyline aswell as EE Phil Mitchells cocaine and alcahol problems

Frank and Carla storyline is amazing, and so was Carla and tony's ect..

^^

But them characters for me are just amazing

Corrie's always good for classic lines. Gail's remark to Richard - "You're twisted, you're Norman Bates with a briefcase" was a great line.

John Stape came out with some brilliant lines too. Two of my favourites were:
"All I ever wanted to do was teach.People died because I wanted to teach - that's not a vocation, that's a catastrophe!"
and
"Charlotte was nuts. She was every variety of nut that ever existed.Half woman, half pistachio"

Janine's "if only he'd worn slip on shoes" was excellent

Deirdre - "Ken, do something !"
I think that has become pretty legendary on here, infact Dedire has said it a couple of times since then so the writers know how popular it is.

I loved Gail's reaction to Jason in his builders hat (in between an arguement with Eileen over Todd)
"Oh and here's the rest of the Village People!"

Too many of Blanche's to quote....

Not so much a legendary character but Suzy Brannings Christmas day rant is one of my favourites

About Ben ''Obviously conceived with a weak sperm''
About Peggy ''Walford's very own poisonous button mushroom''
About Jack & Ronnie ''Oh Jack sorry mate you going out with old vinger lips again''
