Just got tv mag today, And EE isn't on new years eve
is it because it's on a saturday this year.
it was really dramatic wwith ronnie and the baby swap last year
gutted would have much preferred this than a new years day episode.

pat dying should have been on christmas day
and the fire new years eve.

also there's no corrie on either.

NYE tends to rate low, unless it falls on a night when the soaps are meant to be on there isnt usually any special episodes, NYD is more special.

No but they do usually have weekend showings over the holidays. They had a Christmas Eve episode so I'm surprised there's not a New Year's Eve one.

probably due to viewing figures, plus its a saturday and its NYE so people will be more likely yo be out celebrating the new year than sit in waiting for eastenders, its same with emmerdale an corrie they aint on either

I'm not. There has been years that EastEnders hasn't been on New years Eve if it falls on a day an episode doesn't Normally air.

I don't understand why they'd bother to put on an extra episode for NYE when ratings are bound to be low.

New Year's Eve Ratings 2009

Thursday 31st December
7pm:Emmerdale-5.3m (26.3%)
7.30pm:EastEnders-8.2m (30.0%)
8pm:Emmerdale-5.7m (30.0%)
8.30pm Corrie-6.7m (34.8%)

Not a bad figure for EastEnders but the other soaps are low,

New Year's Eve 2010
19:00 - Emmerdale: 6.7m (30.5%)
19:30 - Coronation Street: 7.9m (35.8%)
20:00 - EastEnders: 7.3m (34.3%)
20:40 - Coronation Street: 7.3m (35.1%)

Ratings are NOT that low when you take into account that it was New years Eve but if you look at 30th December 2010 and then New years Day 2011 they show a different story

Thursday 30th December 2010 Overnights
19:00- Emmerdale 7.6m / 31.4%
19:30- Eastenders 9.6m / 38.65
20:00- Emmerdale 7.5m / 29.9%
20:30- Coronation Street 8.6m / 32.1%

New Years Day 2011 (Saturday)

EastEnders 9m / 31.5%

Not too surprised. The NYD episode will be the biggie.
