What was the point in this single? personally i thought it was a terrible song that i knew would be number one and what a waste of a Christmas number 1... All the money is going towards the soldiers fighting a war? We shouldnt be giving money to the government when all we want is the soldiers home instead of fighting in wars.. Now a charity single that has no poin (probly going to fund keeping the soldiers out there longer) and is therefore helping NOONE.

(Apologise for the rant) -- I wanted to hear what peoples thoughts are on this charity single?

Who honestly cares what's #1 at christmas anymore.

It seems that a lot of people would rather have Military Wives at #1 than the latest X-Factor crap.

I suggest you educate on what cause the single is for.

(Fair enough you dont agree with it - but at least have the decency to understand what you're talking about.)

I see where you are coming from, the goverment should be paying, without the wives having to do this, Cameron & co are getting off light, but you have to take your hat off to the wives else nothing would have been done.

It's going to a good cause, and it stopped that awful Little Mix cover from getting the Christmas Number 1 so for that, well done to them!

However, the song is abysmal! There are strangled cats which sound more in tune then they do! Surely there were better Military Wives across the UK? Wives who could sing in tune would have been a step up!

If you didnt watch the BBC series with Gareth Malone - and all that he achieved with the Military Wives - re their confidence - and helping them to take their minds off what could happen to their partners whilst they were in danger overseas - then you wont really understand - how the song came about and how it touched so many hearts.

IMHO it didnt really have anything to do with the soldiers - it was all about partners left at home while their loved ones work in dangerous conditions.

And so much of the proceeds go to the British Legion who also help past members of the forces and their families.

Great story, effort & Lyrics and all for a good cause! Most of the wives are fine holding a tune as many of other wives across the country! Don't see anything wrong with it.

I seriously think you should educate yourself about what the RBL is, and what it's aims are. It does not pay for the wars at all. It provides financial, social and emotional support to those who have served or who are currently serving in the British Armed Forces, and their dependants. As well as fighting for War Disability Pensions for its members.

As suniil said, there is nothing wrong with it. If you actually listen to the lyrics they are incredibly poignant and are relevant not only to military personnel and their families.

If the song wasn't for charity and by the wives/partners of soliders ("our boys", "heroes", grr) then I'm sure that more people would criticise it. I don't think the Military Wives anything special.
