Is Eastenders the only soap that has them?

In EE we've got

Tracy
Winston
Gaynor
Aunt Sal
Ritchie Scott (The Best lawyer in town!)
DCI Marsden
Grace

There may be more?

I can't think of any in the other soaps really?

Do Michelle's parents count in Corrie?

I suppose Corrie used to have Charlie West (Les's dodgy mate), Yana Lumb (Much missed) but I can't think of any now in Corrie or Emmerdale.

Are there any?

Tracy is a legend. Been there from Day 1. I would love a random episode centred around her one day.

Hollyoaks has tonnes of recurring/supporting characters.

They have about 60 cast members and the only regulars realistically are

Tony, Darren, Nancy, Rhys, Jacqui, Mercedes, Carmel, Theresa, Bart, Amy, Ste, Cheryl, Brendan, Linsey, Doug, Texas, Dodger, Will, Ash, Annalise, Barney, Scott, Rob, Maddie, Tilly, Callum, George, Cindy, Seth,Ruby and Riley

Leanne, Esther, Ricky, Liberty, Johnno, Myra, Finn are all supporting characters that pop up as and when the story requires it and usually just as an extra body.

Anybody remember Big Ron? I loved him, such a shame he died in real life.

Perhaps Tracy and Winston could be having a secret affair! Then when it all comes out they decide to get married and have the reception in the pub! Or is that all too far fetched?

I remember Big Ron! R.I.P

I think EastEnders is unique amongst the soaps in having recurring "extras" who in some cases (eg Tracy, Winston) have been around since the early days.

Emmerdale has Bishop George, though he hasn't been seen for a while I don't think. Also PC Swirling, who last appeared after Hazel found Any's baby in the phone box.

A few years back, they did have more recurring characters - Victoria's friend Kayleigh Gibbs, Hotten Courier reporter John McNally, Dean the King's Haulage driver - but they seem to have cut down on them.

Aunt Pam & Bill Webster went from being semi-regulars on Coronation St to recurring characters.

That vicar friend of Ashley's in Emmerdale, the dopey one, is he recurring?

Neighbours has a good few.

We have Nurse Jodie, the various people who work in Harold's and then we have Dr. Olenski and Dr. Peggy Newton.

EE has Mrs. Patel who turned the video shop into a sari shop. Haven't seen her in a while though...

Other EastEnders:

Marcus Christie (Stephen Churchett) who was the Mitchell's lawyer before Ritchie Scott and appeared frequently from 1990-2004.

DCI Charlie Mason (Campbell Morrison) appeared during the late 90s to arrest Cindy over the attempted murder of Ian. Matthew and Steve for the murder of Saskia Duncan and Grant for the attempted murder of Tiffany. He also hounded Phil for a while without success.

DI Kelly(Ian Burfield):first arrested Mad May for kidnapping Dawn Swann before returning to investigate the deaths of Stella Crawford and Jase Dyer. Last seen investigating the discovery of Owen Turner's body.

DS Marsh(Steve Money): First appeared in 2003 to investigate a robbery at the Minute Mart before reappearing in 2004 to arrest Janine for Laura's murder. He then raided Angie's Den after Phil planted drugs there before arresting Phil for armed robbery after he was set up by Den Watts. Later on he arrested Derek for growing cannabis at the allotments (Derek was covering for Martin and Asif) before returning earlier this year to investigate the attack on Connor Stanley.
