When June Brown leaves EE, will her exit be bigger than Pat's?
Pat's exit is going to be huge, emotional and her death is no doubt, one of the biggest exits ever. Her funeral is tipped to be the biggest send off ever.
So when June Brown (Dot Branning) decides to leave EastEnders, will Dot's exit be huge like Pat's or will she have a quiet exit? |

I'd say it will probably be bigger than Pat's exit. Both are huge characters but Dot's been in it since the very start, I very much doubt she would get quiet send-off.

I think both there exits will be equally as big, I do have a horrible feeling that Christmas 2012 will be Dot's exit, I hope im wrong but I get the feeling that JB will call it a day next year.

It better be, because Dot is a legend.

I think Dots would be bigger, but probably very different. They are both different characters so would have to use their exits to fit their personalities.
As for when June Brown leaves, I think it will be 2013, don't think it will be just yet (fingers crossed!!) |

oh forgot to mention, at the moment the only people I belive would deserve a big send off to match pats (or bigger) would be Dot and Ian.

I'm probably in the minority in that I've never enjoyed Dot's storylines. I think she's another one who is hugely overrated and quite frankly, I find her boring, always have done. The SLs around her and Nick were the worst and seemed to go on forever at recurring times.

But I don't know how different the exits could be. Dot isn't just going to up and leave the Square at her age, I think she might die.
![]() What I mean is, yes if June decides to leave, then yes dot would probably die. i mean the music, scenes etc would be different. obvisouly we haven't seen Pats yet so I can't comment, but with dot she doesn't like fuss, simple hymns, church, so i could imagine something very delicate, where with pat I imagine bright bold colours, and probably pop music from her era rather than hymns. normally soaps are good in putting a funeral together to match the persons personality. |

I personally think that Dot's exit will be the biggest the show has seen.

As much as I love Pat she hasn't really been at the forefront in recent times whereas Dot still continues to play a prominent role which is remarkable for someone of her age - when she finally leaves I can see it being a big deal for the show. |

Probably 2012 or 2013, though I don't want her to go.

Dot's exit needs to be the biggest and best of all time. She'd deserve a whole weeks worth of episodes dedicated to her leaving storyline and her final few days. I know for many people that Dot is EastEnders and no character is bigger than the show but she comes close. More so than any other character in it's history.
EDIT: If I was in charge I'd try and keep Dot in the soap for as long as possible and then have her recur for a few years like Betty did in Corrie and then have Dot pass away on the 30th anniversary episode. They could even plan all of Dot's future storylines beforehand and film them all and even shoot her final episode some time in advanced. It's possible. |

I just don't get the fuss over Dot - if it weren't for crass sentiment she'd have been axed years ago. One of the most grossly overrated soap characters ever IMO. Sadly, I don't believe she'll ever quit - they'll have to carry her out of there in a box. And who can blame her - £100k a year for chain smoking whilst muttering "Ooh I say" every now & then is damn good work if you can find it. We'll certainly be in the minority though mate. |

I think June will work until she drops. I hope she's still in EE when she hits 100.
If she were to pass away anytime soon, I'm sure they would give her a fantastic send off.

She was in it a lot from the start. Also she is in her 80s - maybe they want her to take it easy storywise. She was in it from the first episode so they would have to do something big as she is so iconic. If they kill her off they will probably get Nasty Nick leering over the bed saying Ello Ma

I would hope that Dot's exit is much bigger than Peggy's or Pat's because she's actually been in it from the very beginning and is an important part of EE now, even if she sometimes only has a small part to play. If she is overrated, I don't think she's nearly as overrated as Peggy was and a huge fuss was made for her exit.
