I've Got Class: EastEnders Episodes
Sunday 1st January 2012
As it becomes clear to the Square that Pat has just hours to live, they prepare to say their final goodbyes to the woman behind the earrings. Both Derek and Janine are incredibly guilty that they did not realise the full extent of Pat’s illness, and both decide to visit her for their heartfelt goodbyes. First in to visit the Square’s leading lady is Ricky, who Pat tells upfront that she will take the secret about his one night stand with Mandy to her grave, for this, Ricky is thankful but assures Pat he will tell Bianca the whole truth when things have settled and times are better. Then, the pair reminisce over Frank, and Ricky’s youth, before finally turning the conversation to the children and how proud Pat is of him. Next to see Pat is Bianca, Carol and David- pretending to be a strong family unit. Bianca confesses in front of Pat, and her parents that prison was not as easy as she has made out and every day she struggled to move on because of prison bullies, when Carol tries to stop Bianca from distressing Apt, Bianca says that the only reason she has told her this, is because she is as happy as ever now, and she wants Pat to know that. Carol and Bianca leave, and David says his emotional goodbyes to Pat, telling her of his undying love for her, and she will always be remembered. Next, Mo goes to see her- sharing fond memories of Jimmy, and laughing at their numerous disputes they’ve shared over the years. Although Mo’s visit is only short, Pat assures her she loves her underneath all of the rivalry. Then, Pat makes a beautiful video for the kids, as she does not want them to see her so ill. She addresses each child individually, before talking to Janine’s unborn child. Derek is stopped from seeing Pat by the family, as they realise he will upset her, fuming, Derek hits David, only for Carol to disown him, and she tells him she will encourage Max to do the same. Ian is next to visit Pat, and she tells him things about Pete she has never told him before, like the way he held her hand. She then begins to speak about Bobby, and Ian leaves when she becomes increasingly incoherent. Patrick goes to visit his old flame, but when he sees a tearful Ian, he takes off his trilby hat and lifts it as a sign of respect. Pat’s final visitor is Janine, who tells her she is sorry she doubted her illness and she should never have done it. She then presents a brand new DVD of Pat and Frank’s wedding, and the women watch it together. As the short film comes to an end, Janine finds that Pat has passed away. Julia’s theme ends the episode, with a dream like sequence of Pat being reunited with Frank, images of Frank taken from the bow-tie episode. |

Jacqueline Leonard confirms EastEnders return
Today, Jacqueline Leonard has confirmed she will be returning to EastEnders in the role of Lorraine Wicks. Speaking of her return, Jacqueline said:
"I had a great time in the time I spent in the show, and now David has returned, Lorraine will follow suit. Even though they're not on good terms, she still goes to find him in Walford. Michael French is on a 6 month contract, and Lorraine will be back in February, so they'll be on the same Square until June or July at the very least." When asked how her character has changed, Jacqueline said: "She's definitely got a mean streak now, she's in everything for the money. She's matured into this bitchy feisty woman, and she's a temptress. She had a thing with Grant, and now she's back she has the eyes for Phil, I see her being the downfall of him, he had Glenda for a while and she got pushed down some stairs, but Lorraine is much cleverer than that- she's the sort who does the pushing." |
