I shouldn't think so, certainly not before watershed anyway.

I NOTICED THAT! I watched it on The Box and they didn't blank it there either!

It's disgusting, I know it's only a word but it's not acceptable.
Maybe this is going in the way that sticking 2 fingers up at the camera is...

It's not used in an offensive way in the song.

Unfortunately in this day and age context means nothing and anyone could interpret the word anyway they like. I'm sure many viewers will be straight on the phone to OfCom after watching it.

Neither is "Sex on a beach" in California Gurls but that's blanked.

"You can suck a d*ck, or you can suck a ballsack" - Tongue in cheek, both blanked.

The N-word is way more offensive than any other word I've heard, bar a couple.

A word is only offensive if it is used in the wrong context.

Faggot is always going to be offensive (bar the food).

N****r is certainly offensive. Some people may turn a blind eye to these, but you utter either of these and someone will be offended.

Im sure alot of people would find that word being thrown about in a pop song offensive.

Considering that word has been used in songs for the best part of 20 years, I would say most people don't noticce it anymore.

Is this one of them moaning for the sake of moaning threads.

But it's usually blanked out on TV/Radio, i think that was the point of this thread.

I don't know, don't listen to music on tv/radio, as I don't want to be force fed, so explore for myself

Nobody gets forced to watch the music channels or listen to the radio, they do it because they like the music.

Just because chart music / pop music is more accessible doesn't mean it's not as good...

I didn't mention quality thanks, I just said I don't want to be force fed the same songs on a loop all day.

Well, just as the N-word could be construed wrongly and offensively, so was your post.

I listen to the music channels, but with the amount of music readily available anyway, there's plenty of music to listen to. I might not be the most 'exploratitive' of listeners, but I somehow managed to find over 2700 songs to listen to in my iTunes.

Not bad for the music channels.

Not in Fairytale of New York. Certainly not offensive in that. Apart to those who are offended by life

Thats the ironic thing though Mechajlo, you will never ever listen to all 2700 songs that you have just like anyone else that boasts about having thousands of songs in their pocket.

All of the songs in my iTunes have at least 3 plays, I don't keep songs I don't listen to. They're mainly full albums, of which I collect anyway. I'm not gonna buy music that I don't listen to, doesn't work like that!

Maybe I'm part of the minority.

I have to concede on this one actually, I love Fairytale of New York and this is the sole instance I can stand 'faggot'. Other than that it's the only word I despise hearing.

Most of the times Britney says it, she doesn't pronounce it properly, so they can often get away with not censoring it.

People still have a low opinion of rappers nowadays I think. It's getting better, but it does seem like absolutely everything they say, there's people out there that always assume the worst. So the radio stations have to be careful (it shouldn't have to be like this though).
