Do you agree with Pam St Clement when she says it could be the end for EE matriarchs?

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s2...atic-exit.html Matriarch being the older grandmother figure rather than mother figures.

Shes either overlooked Mo or realises shes not being sold as a big matriarch.

They need to start by creating some decent family units, other than the Masoods, there's not a lot to work with at the moment.

I doubt Carol will be around for much longer, I can see her leaving in the next year or so.

There is only Cora unless they introduce a Masood granny so Pam raises a good point.

Mo has too much of a background role to be a matriarch

I think it's near the end of the matriarch's solidified in EastEnders history - when Dot leaves it will be the last great Walford woman leaving, however so many characters have the ability to become the next big matriarch of the Square. Powerful women is something soap does well.

I just thought. What about Jane and Christian's mother? she was good and had the potential.

They could also cast Denise and Kim's mother.

So they have enough options to make something happen.

I think she has a point but I could see Cora becoming the new matriach in time and potentially Linda Clarke if she's brought back.

I've often wondered why they dont bring in Zainab or Masood's parents, one family no one would mind being extended.
