Some of those albums weren't meant to be big hit albums anyway!

I don't think they were just referencing the albums' commercial success.

Anyone else have anything to add?

Matt Cardle - Letters (not because it sold bad, but because he was predicted to do so much better than he did)

Good to see Limp Bizkit in the list. They won't let BEP hang onto the 'Worst Band In The World' title without a fight!.

Stevie Nicks' "In Your Dreams" was very well received by critics and fans with many of them agreeing it's her best work since the 1980s. She's not exactly someone who was going to sell a huge amount of albums in today's market. She's done pretty well commercially and the tour has been a success.

Beyonce's new album has sold about the same as Avril's. So why isn't she on the list?.

I agree. Probably a bit harsh to put Stevie Nicks on there as she wasn't aiming for big sales and she was well received critically. Whereas Lou Reed/Metallica and Feist also weren't expecting to sell lots but they were critically panned - especially Lou Reed/Metallica.

I thought the Evanescence album had done quite well?

Bey's album has sold twice as much.

Why is The Game's album on the list?!?! The album got to #1, and it's really good!!

Also, in response to someone above, the the BEPs aren't a band.

The word "flop" is overused anyway I see 1+ million selling albums on the list (Avril's is one of the 40 best selling albums of the year worldwide) and albums that made it to No.1 (so obviously if they could defeat all competition on a weekly basis, they're not flops).A flop album imo is an album that people don't even know exists, that doesn't even chart in any top 20 around the world and that doesn't produce any remotely big hit. Most of the albums on the list (if not all of them) don't match this definition, so imo none of these albums are flops

Just because an album flops in the chart it does not mean it is not great. Stevie Nicks album is fantastic and I also enjoyed the RHCP. I don't even consider sales or chart placement when looking at new albums.

I agree with above!
No way is Avril's a flop at all.
Wouldn't say Joe jonas's was either, as that was meant for the niche market of their fans and it did well for that.

Flop's are albums which don't even chart!

I did actually LOL. As funny as that is, I do 100% agree with you. A judge on the biggest tv programme in Britain, a top 10 single, yet failed to even crack the Top40. Ouch!

because it wasnt advertised. and cheryl released her solo album a YEAR after being on the show. it makes a difference. people know you. bizarre how many people have no idea who kelly is but know beyonce (i get beyonce's the bigger star but if you know DC??)
She performed the week after the album was out. WHO does that?? seriously that'd never happen for cheryl. tut tut. dermot didnt announce "Kelly rowland promoting her new album - here I am" did he? so people only saw her promoting a single. seriously what are kellys fans doing?? her debut sold well, why werent the fans out in force?

The promotion was terrible, it was as though they were putting everything onto 'Down For Whatever' to actually sell the album. The problem is, there has been so many Kelly Rowland singles flying about that people are going to feel unaware of what is actually a single or even on her album. Though the funny thing is, when the album was released on itunes, 'Lay It On Me' was the most downloaded song from the album. I think had she released that, it would have helped more.

Though after kelly performed, the album shot up til around #4 on itunes, then gradually fell and fell more. Also Beyonces ITV special was on that night as well which didn't help Kelly because it pushed Beyonce back up infront of her. If they have any sense they will promote LIOM next which might help the album
