is there an ap you can download that will give you something similar to flash on the ipad .

No. I think there is an alternate browser available though which does let you browse some Flash-based sites.
What do you want Flash for? |

What do you want Flash for? Well what ever b.lever want's flash for I don't know, but I would like it for the 50% of video links I click on that redirect me to the Adobe site that tells me that Apple says no.

My experience with SkyFire hasn't been very good. It doesn't work for many sites, especially non-US ones. Also the browser itself isn't great.
