I know it isn't new years eve but in the past the soaps have always shown the characters seeing in the new year/ parties with the fireworks, regardless of it being shown on the actual date. I suppose it doesn't matter but will it be set in new year on monday then? I always liked seeing the characters countdown for the new year.

EastEnders seemed to fast forward an entire week, this usually happens around this time of year though, the schedule changes and special storylines allow for it.

There were a few fireworks going off as sound effects in EastEnders but very little mention of it otherwise. Doesn't matter though as the episode was brilliant.

Hollyoaks celebrated the new year in tonights episode.

Emmerdale and Coronation Street will probably celebrate on Monday

It was Tommy's birthday tonight so they wern't celebrating the new year. I bet Pat will probably die as the chimes play.

Na that's when he died (or didn't) he was born the day before cos I remember the beginning of the baby swap episode showing Ronnie and Kat on the morning with their kids and thinking if only they knew what was gonna happen! Lol
