How can I send my songs to record labels?
Over the years I have written loads of songs for fun, but now I want to take it more seriously so I was wondering if anyone out there was a songwriter ans how did you get your songs noticed by record labels/singers etc?
Here are two songs I have written for someone like The Saturdays, they are called 'Blind' and 'Come To Life' would love to know what you think of them! Blind When I’m with you I feel like I’ve got nothing to lose But now I’m losing the fight Between my head and my heart And I don’t want to choose I turn the other way When you do what you do And you say what you say ‘Cos you’re so dark right now I can’t see your colours shining through So I’ll just close my eyes and pray You’re gonna see the light in the tunnel some day And what you’re looking for Is standing in front of your face I hope you realise That I’m only blind When I open my eyes When I’m with you I feel like my back is against the wall And the higher you put me The higher that I’m gonna fall We can’t have it all So I’ll just close my eyes and pray You’re gonna see the light in the tunnel some day And what you’re looking for Is standing in front of your face I hope you realise That I’m only blind When I open my eyes You’ve broken my senses Torn down all my defences I can’t see It’s not clear Why do I feel distance? Even though I know you’re here? So I’ll just close my eyes and pray You’re gonna see the light in the tunnel some day And what you’re looking for Is standing in front of your face I hope you realise That I’m only blind When I open my eyes Come To Life It’s raining outside My blue skies have turned to grey The fire’s burning inside But I can feel it blowing away Then you look at me Hold me tight I feel your heart beating And I know it’s all right If the world should end Then we have tonight Come and take my hand ‘Cos baby we can come to life It’s raining outside But I don’t care if we get wet And now I’m smiling inside Just being with you, is something that I’ll never forget It’s starting to storm But black skies just make the stars shine I’ve now got a reason A reason to come to life ‘Cos when you look at me And hold me tight You’re beating heart I know it’s all right If the world should end Then we have tonight Come and take my hand ‘Cos baby we can come to life |

Firstly if your serious about lyric writing, you want to remove your post ASAP and not post them until they are copyrighted. Secondly your best bet is trying to contact local bands/studios are seeing if you can help them write some songs, this way you can build up credibility and have them made in actual recordings (which the band can then deliver to record labels and you'd get credited for the songs and get recognised for your work).

I agree with KillerJoe. I don't want to sound cruel, since your lyrics are good, but record labels just won't listen to you if you just send them lyrics.
You need to find a producer and a singer who live nearby to you, who are also serious about getting a career in music, and turn your lyrics into songs. Have the singer sing the songs, and the producer compose the instrumentals. Then promote them online to gain a fanbase, and after that you could start thinking about sending them to record labels. |

The above.
Getting your songs on youtube for eg and getting a good number of views can help a lot when trying for a record label. |
