Who made the rules for this though?

Dullag i think

I think it should still count because Derek still made the most appearances (if he did win, and this is coming from someone who doesnt want to see him win)

Its common sense. If a character fails to complete a full year how can they compete against other characters who do? Its not fair

Not really though, it still stands if they make the most apperances

But they arent in the last episode of the year. How can they make the most appearances if they dont even complete a full year. It just doesnt make sense

Yes it does

If you pick out every character and counted how many episodes they appear in the year (ie the count) and see that Derek has a higher number, ie he has appeared in more epiosdes than anyone else

Yet fails to a complete a full year. It just isn't fair on those who do

Why bother moving them to the departed list if that is the case?

To show they are gone but it still stands that they appeared in more episodes

But theyre not in the same list as everyone else hence why they cant count

Why does Sharon get to be on the list then? She won't have completed a full year...

TBH, though it won't matter whether he's on the list, and by whose rules it counts. The simple fact of the matter would be that between the 1st January and 31st December, Jamie Foreman as Derek Branning will have appeared in more episodes of EastEnders than anyone else.*

*assuming of course, that he isn't over taken by another character.

well she isnt going to win anyway but i dont think that matters so much

Then they should be kept on the same list as it would be annoying having to work with two different lists to see who wins

Not really, all you have to do is look at the top of both lists and see which one is higher

Well Lucy returned in January so she shouldn't be allowed to win the count as although she's day off a whole year, she wasn't a cast member from January 1st 2012.

I think a departed list is good but if a departed character has been in the most episodes, they should win the count.

It would be easier if Phil wins it, COME ON PHIL

Agreed, if they still made the most appearances, then they still win.

And like you, I;m hoping Phil wins!

Yay! Still a chance.

Also in my last post, I wasn't saying Lucy shouldn't win the count I was just making a point against the person who posted about Sharon shouldn't be in the count as she hasn't done a whole year.

This, there is no rule they have to complete the year. It is character appearance thus it is based on their appearances not length of time on the show.
