This is not natural and people need to stop being fashion victims

God knows, she can't have much, if anything in it, otherwise her puny stick arms would snap.
Maybe because usually they are expensive, women carry them this way as a status symbol, rather than a means of transporting things around with you. |

No offence, but why does it matter how someone carries their handbag?

It does look daft, no denying that.
But I don't think Mrs Beckham can be called a fashion victim, can she? After all, she's one of the ones making silly money out of fashion. That's not what I'd call a victim, more of a victor....ia.

The handle is to short for the bag to go on the shoulder, so there are two ways of carrying the bag ....... in the hand or on the arm which obviously shows off the matching bag with the outfit, and leaves the hand free.
![]() It is fashion, don't cha know!! |

Well if she altered the angle of her arm to below 90 degrees the bag would slip off.

It's a perfectly normal way to carry a bag
![]() It leaves your hands free and means your bag is closer to your body. It's better than having a big shoulder bag. They are VERY bad for backs. |

I am no fashion victim and frequently carry short handled bags like this. What's the problem?

Couple of reasons:-
If my bag is really heavy my shoulder starts to ache, so I just put it on my arm When I wear my hair down it can get trapped in the straps which can be annoying. |

Same here - and it keeps both of my hands free as well
![]() Sorry but it is a fashion statement and not practical. Do you carry your shopping bags like that?

It's not how they carry their bags but more the size of some of them. You see some carry around bags on their arm the size of a small suitcase. How much sh!t does someone need to carry around with them on a normal day? Even the necessities like make up, keys, tampons, phone, purse, etc. don't warrant a bag with enough room to head off on holiday for a couple of weeks.
Some really do look like the local crazy bag lady. |

Lol! No one can tell me it is comfortable carry a load on the elbow joint over carrying something with their hands. It's daft seeing people carrying their bags like this just to look cool.

as a woman I find it extremely uncomfortable to carry a bag like that and can't see the point in buying bags with straps so short you can't sling them over your shoulder or even chest. I wear my bags like satchels.
