![]() and yet a little ![]() Seriously,at 39 secs I thought the film had gone into fast-forward; that woman appeared supernatural... and yet,the whole thing left me cold.If I see a woman doing cha-cha steps I expect to want to get up and dance with her but here I felt more like cowering under the table. p.s. the only dance I've ever done is jiggling around to a disco at family events and that was a long time ago. |

Well I did the usual ballet ect as a kid. Did contempory dance .at a level. Then nothing else.
Then had kids, in our family always been strong ballet so my son at 2 started ballet, by 3 he was watching strictly and said dont want to do ballet want to dance like that, by then mum, dad, my sis and her son where at a ballroom school, he started and did first comp at 4. He is now 8 doing sdt and also grade 1 ballroom and latin and still competing. My daughter now 5 started at 20mths, she competed at just 3, still dances she is now on under 8 rossettes as she has done all the under 6 rossette. She competes as a under 6, and as its a small class has qualified fr this years blackpool istd finals lol. So just waiting now to here back from school as hopefully me and dh will learn this year, 2 yrs ago did a cha cha/ rhumba lesson, and was nice at blackpool to get on the floor and dance a little lol. |

My wife and I had ballroom classes, but to say I wasn't very good was an understatement - even the instructor couldn't keep a straight face when I took to the floor
![]() I was OKish with the Cha-cha-cha and the Waltz as far as we got, but everything else was a mess.... I can keep perfect time in my head because I can sing, but my feet seem to have other ideas! |

At the last latin World Championship in Moscow, in each of 5 elimination rounds one out of 5 five dances was restricted to basic steps which gold medal exam students will recognize, e.g. in Round 1 cha cha was restricted, in round 2 samba was restricted, etc. Unquestionably the best in the world would execute basic steps with classic beauty, nevertheless ordinary mortals could relate to what they see, and aspire to emulate the greats. This same scheme of partial restrictions will again be in force in the forthcoming WDC World Championship. |

Got booked to do ballroom classes as a child, but was so terribly shy was too afraid to go. Went to jive & rock and roll classes in my 20's and then finally started to go to Ballroom & Latin classes in my 40's thanks to Strictly. Now also go to Zumba, know its not strictly dance but close enough. Recommend everyone to try! Husband has two left feet but I drag him along and he loves the social element and laughs, and likes being dragged to Strictly showdances to see the scantily clad dancers

Never had access to ballroom, latin. Nor, as seems to be almost ubiquitous in some's eyes, ballet, but wouldn't have suited me anyway, as I was set to be wrong height, build etc. Tried tap but didn't have the patience to work my way up slowly from the "arms out and tap toe/heel whilst smiling" scenario. Took disco lessons as a teenager (height of Night Fever era!) which I got on with quite well, reckon I could have done a mean disco-based showdance on SCD in my day!
