Hello, my iPhone 4 is switching itself off when it gets to around 16% battery life, does this happen to anyone else?

It shouldn't do - perhaps the battery is on it's way out.

ive only had it 4 weeks max a replacement as the last one the mic went, unless they use a refurbished one

Apple would have given you a refurb. Take it back to them, they'll give you another.
