How many of the cast have done some of higher education (diploma, uni) I assume all the doctors have and Libby. Anyone else?

What is kind of funny is the show is based in London and there are untold universities in the city, yet not one of the teenager they show are inspired to go to uni, even if the character lived at home, the whole big up Tamwar going to oxford they made a big deal of that one time and it never amounted to anything, they need a bit more realism I know it might seem boring but even if they just said they where going to uni it would be better then nothing.

Michelle and Rachael both went to university. All the doctors and lawyers obviously. In fact when Michelle went to uni we got to meet a few of her uni mates it was a good time period.

Tamwar would never be able to have lived at home if he wanted to go to Oxford anyway. They require all undegrads to live in Oxford in term time. Which is only 6 months of the year anyway basically 3 8 week terms. Libby was completely unrealistic in this aspect coupled with the fact she never studied.

Well what I meant to say was they could of had him go to another uni, but the storyline was dropped after awhile.

Chas in Emmerdale has a business degree.

This is so true. I had to get written permission to leave Oxford for a week during term time once, so there's no way Libby could have spent so much time at home. And if you're reading a subject like English Literature, as Libby was, you need to be in Oxford to study anyway because a lot of the books you need are in the Bodleian or other non-lending libraries.

Interesting, there are quite a few. Was wondering why lots of the cast didn't do higher education

I thought they would have had him go to another uni...he didn't fail did he? From what I remember he didn't get the required marks for Oxford but that didn't mean he couldn't go elsewhere.

I remember that. He got called teased by Pete who didn't consider it very manly.

Well if they went to university it would mean they would have less time in the show - I know they could still live at home but they would be studying a lot of the time and spending lots of time at the university. Their life would revolve around the university. So that's probably the reason why not a lot of the characters go!

Also it's not really unrealistic because a lot of people I know don't want to go to university.

I think Sonia went to college and uni to train as a nurse and Stacey was going to go on a fashion course but didn't in the but recently the teenagers on the show have not been written to have any aspirations or ambitions to go to Uni although maybe Lauren doing her art thing and Whitney with the childcare.

They never explicitly stated what grades he got.
What happened to an insurance choice?

Sorry, I just wanted to know, I also mainly talking about why didn't the older residents go to university.

Shabnam also had been to University.

I think eventually we'll see Lauren as a Uni student, just one who lives at home.
