Steve Parish has denied a takeover is imminent.

He told the Croydon Guardian: "We look at all possibilities that are out there - and there are many.
"But people have been quite ahead of themselves on this one."

Josh Harris, a private equity investor, is the principal owner of two sports teams in the United States - National Hockey League side New Jersey Devils, and the Philadelphia 76ers of the National Basketball Association.
He and business partner David Blitzer were linked with a takeover of Aston Villa during the summer.

Parish said: "We are talking to a number of people on a number of fronts.
"I've always said that if somebody wanted to invest in the club and move it forward quicker than I or we can then we would entertain it."
However, he also said: "There are always people who want to buy football clubs.
"Sometimes people approach you and it gets out, sometimes people approach you and it doesn't, but there is no imminent takeover."

A denial is usually followed by it being completely true isn't it?

Reading a bit about the potential new guy, I'm becoming less against it. He seems to be quite careful about running things, which with our history is always a good thing!

And the idea of Parish (on any of the current 4) staying on running the day-to-day stuff would be reassuring.

Another game where we don't ever look like scoring, another game with a shit referee and losing to Gus ****ing Poyet.

What a crap night that was.

I had hoped that with Andy Johnson back on the scene he would have managed to pass on some tips on how to be awarded penalties.

I have a long memory - wasn't there a time when we practised corners and free kicks so that these were a real threat, rather than just being a way of getting the ball back into play, as seemed to happen too much last night?

Judging by last night's performance we will have a much better chance of winning games next season - in the Championship

Well they started like a house on fire but a combination of a ref who gave us nothing all night and a near total lack of creativity meant we were doomed. We made Sunderland look half decent which they just aren't, there was no real plan B and why did we play 2 wide men and not get more crosses in?
Warnock looks absolutely lost on the sideline, like the whole things just passing him by.
Gone by Christmas?

As each week passes you can clearly see that everything Pulis installed mentally in to the players has slowly been drained away by Warnock. The belief and mental strength has ebbed away and we are almost back to where we were under Holloway.

As Oblivion above mentions, Warnock looks clueless on the sidelines, he is unable to change a game with his tactics or substitutions and looks more and more out of his depth. He's coming across as someone who is as inspiring to the players as a 40-stone woman is to a dieting club.

I agree im a Sunderland fan and our defence is a Shambles and were lucky to win that game !..you should have had at least one penalty possibly two but we were denied a stone wall penalty at Southampton when at 2-0 down too and facing 10 men could have changed the game ..but last night your luck run out !

i wasn't happy when warnock got the gig and as each game passes i'm more and more unhappy... we look a pale shadow of the side from earlier this year under pulis... parish and co need to sort this out sooner rather than later... with man utd and liverpool up next we will be cemented in the bottom 3 by the end of this month...

Awful miss from Campbell, he showed no composure whatsoever. Gayle would have buried a chance like that.

You would think United will step it up a gear or two in the second half so I'm not holding out too much hope on getting anything today.

and the inevitable happens. that was poor from Jules, he should have saved it.
Bolasie and Puncheon have been really poor again. and Campbell is virtually non-existent.

Gayle & Bannan on with 10 minutes left - should have both come on as soon as we went a goal down.

finishes 1-0 to United.

at no point did I think we would get back in to the game. at no point did I think Warnock would change things in a way to get us back in the game. it's all pretty woeful.

Bannan and Gayle must start instead of coming on with 10 mins left. and we must get Murray back from Reading.

Another match this season where the opposition has been poor and we still come away with nothing from it - says it all really.

As each week passes you can clearly see that everything Pulis installed mentally in to the players has slowly been drained away by Warnock. The belief and mental strength has ebbed away.
I'm going to reiterate the above. There's no belief in this squad, it's almost as if we're resigned to getting nothing from these games and the best they're hoping for is to somehow get away with a point.

Morale must be bordering on the desperately low by now, too.

the positive is that Dann & Delaney at the back are so much better than any other partnership. but I would still rather see Ward at right back.

I thought we played OK today, just such a frustrating miss from Campbell and I thought Speroni should have done better for the goal.

Still much better than I was expecting from this one.

when you really look at it,, yeah, it was a better defensive performance but only because united were clueless with the ball in the final third most of the time... we looked impotent up front again, ...that campbell miss was a shocker & yeah, jules should have saved the mata shot...

... and in the end its another defeat, that's 4 in the last 5...

I'm pleased to see that Nathaniel Clyne played for England today.

In a way I'm happier seeing an ex-Palace player in an international, knowing that a member of the current team won't be injured on international duty.
