Two games this week where we've been the better side, two games where we should have won. But it's one point and no goals instead. All our problems right there in a nutshell.

Before the game I would have taken a point.
Just a shame as we were the better side, even a spurs fan said (my other half, and we watched it together) said we should have won. They were lucky to have Loris in goal. However, we need to convert those good chances into goals. We are good at getting the ball, running up the pitch. Then it's as if we panic when we see the goal and fluff it. Come Jan we need a finisher like oh, I don't know. Gayle. Still don't understand why he isn't first name down. What happened to Doyle? Sorry mini rant. We just need to convert the chances. |

I wouldn't have started Gayle today personally. The midfield 3 works really well and I wouldn't rely on Gayle upfront on his own like Chamakh.
Thought we played great today. Frustrating not to get the win, but much better than I was expecting. |

Gayle's not the type of striker to run the line by himself, he needs to play up front with a partner which would mean dropping one of McJedLey.
what we need is a striker that can play up front by himself and be a goalscorer to boot. so good luck with finding one of them Warnock! |

![]() if we had a top drawer striker we would have won comfortably yesterday... so many opportunities to win the match and none taken... can't remember when we had so many corners away from home, too... |

Dover Athletic away in the FA Cup 3rd Round!
Great draw but a gigantic banana skin if ever there was one! |

Love it, a proper Cup tie! Just hope there's enough away tickets to get one.

that was really surreal watching the Dover fans cheer when they drew us. I don't think I've ever seen opposition fans cheer like that after getting us in a cup! exciting tie.

1-1 full time. terrible second half. looked clueless going forward for long periods again.
and our home form continues to suck overall. one win in ten now. that's awful no matter how you look at it. |

Bolasie was the only exciting player in the game. Other than that is was two teams playing pretty crappy football.
A couple of quality attacking signings are a must in January. |

A bright opening soon descended in to a yawn fest. Too many points at home dropped this season. It's worrying.
I keep reading that we need a striker in January, but it's more than that, we need a goalscorer. Plus, someone creative, someone who can actually deliver a final ball. Too often Bolasie, Puncheon, Zaha & others get themselves in great positions and their final ball or cross is atrocious. |

Yesterday just before half time Zaha was almost shouting at him in frustration as if "what do you want me to do" obviously couldn't hear what was being said. If he's told all the players to get up to the box and then cross it, then what we need a fast goal hanger, which I'm not fond of. Few of them seem to take chances, that needs to be addressed. |

I like Gayle, too. To me he is one of these strikers that operates best in the 18 yard box. He shouldn't be expected to come deep all the time or run himself in to the ground or be the lone striker. He should be a goal-hanger playing off another front man. But as we've all touched upon it becomes irrelevant when he (or anyone else) is not getting the ammunition to begin with.
That said, and this may be a long shot, I'm hoping we might try and get someone like Robbie Keane in on loan. Jermain Defoe is more than likely heading for QPR so Keane might be a good option from the temporary point of view if we cannot find a permanent goalscorer in January. |

I was never sure why Glenn Murray went out on loan. I see that he has been scoring goals for Reading and that they hope to sign him. Presumably he wouldn't be able to score goals for Palace if he came back?

saturday was dire for the most part... that 1 win in 10 statistic is deeply concerning, more so when you consider it's man city & southampton up next... |

We need a left back but surely wages will be the stumbling block, plus there must be other clubs queueing up? |

I remember seeing him in the last game of the season when he was on loan with us. Head and shoulders above everyone else and he was only a kid.
Coppell asked arsenal to name their price and the answer came back as "don't be so silly" or words to that effect. Even at his age a signing like that would give the place a lift. |
