Toon fan here, Shows the little differences between people, eh? All the fans I've heard are having a party!

I hope Pardew does well for you! But I find it hard to fathom how you notice the constraints on Pardew but not is poor league record since 2012. Funny that.
I would think that the constraints and the league record are linked.

I hope Pardew does well at Palace and that Newcastle appoint a good manager and give him a chance.

Well, that first half soon descended in to a turgid affair. Hope Pardew has got some strikers already in his thoughts as our cutting edge up front is so woeful.

Bolasie should have buried his chance.

Zaha looks lost up front on his own. why can't we play 4-4-2?

0-0.

Truly awful game. The lack of any real quality in both sides was startling.

1 win in 14. Pard's needs a magic wand.

at least only Hull won in the bottom lot so not much changes.

At least the other teams have goals in them , something we don't . What a dire match that was , simple passes going astray , dead ball free kicks wasted . , no cutting edge at all .

Yeah, our passing game in general is pretty awful, makes you wonder why Bannan can't get a start.

The crossing and set pieces today were a shambles. Pardew has a lot of work to do on the training pitch.

But... it was a clean sheet again. If we can somehow keep it strong defensively then we still have more than a decent shot of survival if things are sorted out the other end.

thank god millen isn't becoming our full time boss... the last 2 matches have been shocking to watch...

clean sheets yes, but we were playing qpr and villa... the latter have the worst goalscoring record in all 4 divisions...

3 right-backs in the line up, 2 out of poisition?? we desperately lacked quality in midfield and he brings bannan on with 2 minutes left?? zaha up front on his own clearly didn't work at qpr and yet he starts with the same tactic today??

1 win in 14, and dover unbeaten in 16... just saying.

Still nothing official from the club but Keith Millen has said Pardew starts tomorrow and will prepare the team for the Dover cup game.

Link.

Well, yesterday was crap. But really looking forward to Dover, a proper cup tie should be a lot of fun.

Hope the first things Pardew does is give Murray and Joniesta a good run in the first team.

MIllen press conference:

"There's no problems at all (over a contract), it's just taking a bit longer than expected,"

"We're preparing for Alan to take training tomorrow but he'll pick the team.
"He left training to myself and Ben Garner today, he was in the office sorting things out."

"I can't give you a timescale on it. We thought we'd be in a position to make an announcement today when we spoke yesterday, but it looks like being tomorrow now.
"A new manager will come in which will hopefully be a spring in our step and help us survive.
"We've had to share our thoughts on transfer targets with Alan. He knows what we feel we need and has seen the squad over the past games."

I'm hoping to see Murray partner Gayle up front on Sunday. Plus, Bannan given a start.

Worth noting that apart from Joniesta and Murray - Jack Hunt, Adlene Guedioura, Paddy McCarthy, Lewis Price and Stuart O'Keefe are all back from loan spells, too.

How long are you thinking... say another 4 years?

he does look shattered but it's been some week for him. good interview though.

We've got to be sensible and positive, no taking anything for granted, especially as they are on one hell of an unbeaten run! And both Blyth and Southport today showed how tricky this could be.

Going to be really interesting to see the starting XI for this one.

Hope it's a relatively strong team, maybe with Murray if he's back for January.

A new manager and a big cup day out on the TV - this feels like it could be a brand new start for us this season. Would be typical of us to mess it up...

yep, part of me is expecting us to be making a huge meal out of it today...

...did read that the dover manager says they're "gonna go for it"... that would play right in to our hands seeing as we're more of a counter-attacking team, so i'm hoping we go 4-4-2 today...
