pardew confirmed today that murray has signed a new deal so i doubt ameobi is here to replace him... could mean the back of campbell though... and will we still go after gestede from blackburn?
our midfield looks really strong with mutch coming in... and jedi returns next week from the asian cup, too... |

That's great news about Murray.
Pardew also said that the deal for Pape Souare was very close to being done. Still rumours that we are interested in Bolton's Lee Chung-Yong. |

Parish has just tweeted a few minutes a go that the Papa Souare deal is all done.

Jedinak helped Australia win the Asian Cup 2:1 after extra time (against South Korea. Let's hope he didn't get too worn out so he can be back soon.

full-time: 0-1.
I wasn't worried at half-time after the way we played but we were really poor in the 2nd half, just never got going. today was the first game where i thought we missed Jedi and Bolasie. |

Bad result against a poor side.
First half we played well despite the very early set back and created enough to be at least level at the break, but we weren't quite the same once Chamakh went off. Second half wasn't good. Our set-pieces were poor, our crossing was poor, our final ball was poor. And we never really showed any urgency which was hugely disappointing. Jury definitely still out on Sanogo. He wasn't particularly effective today. |

Thought we reacted really well again to going behind - after that huge muck up from Delaney. But they escaped with that goal-line clearance and then losing Chamakh messed us up.
We didn't have any real ideas in the second half. Definitely looking forward to getting Jedinak back, hopefully alongside the excellent McArthur. |

on another day we would have had the game wrapped up by half-time...
...biggest downer was how frustrating the 2nd half was. didn't like gayle out wide, he needs to be down the middle... hopefully once bolasie is back that's what will happen with chamakh sitting off gayle... i wouldn't start sanogo, i'd rather him come off the bench if and when needed... jedi back for next week and we need him imo as our midfield doesn't get in half the tackles it should without him... but who to drop? |

a couple of sites this evening claiming we have agreed a deal to sign zaha back from united on a permanent deal with the announcement tomorrow...
...if that does happen that will also free up a loan signing so it's possible we could be doing more business after all. |

Welcome back Wilf. Back where he belongs.
Bolton winger Lee Chung-Yong apparently having a medical at the Beckenham training ground. |

^ And Bannan heading the other way up to Bolton, presumably as part of that Lee deal.

They took their time over it but both the Zaha and Chung-Yong deals were confirmed late last night.
Intrigued now at how the 25 will look. |

These could be good signings if used the right way. Glad we signed some people though.
Really looking forward to the starting eleven against Leicester |

i'm happy with the window... maybe another centre back would have been good but i'm not complaining... we have some good depth to the squad now and hopefully we can push on in the second half of the season...

Next leg of fa should be interesting. |

They did. Part of me secretly wants to make Liverpool cry again (now I've said this, they'll win 5.0)
I doubt that'll happen though, be a good game. |

Anyway, the 25-man squad has been named. Remember, this doesn't include any U-21's (Sanogo for example) Goalkeepers - Hennessey, Kettings, Speroni Defenders - Dann, Delaney, Hangeland, Kelly, Mariappa, Souare, Ward Midfielders - Bolasie, Chung-Yong, Guedioura, Jedinak, Ledley, McArthur, Mutch, Puncheon, Thomas, Zaha Forwards - Ameobi, Campbell, Chamakh, Gayle, Murray |
