^ i was about to ask if jedi would be in trouble... have you heard something then?
slow start today but once we got going we controlled the match... deserved the goals and the win... thought murray was blinding and a little unlucky to see red... both full-backs were really good too... i don't think mutch should be starting games... he may be one for the future but right now our best midfield has to have jedi, mcarthur & ledley ahead of him... |

Well if Jedinak does get punished, then we can complain that Craig Dawson got nothing for a much worse elbow on Speroni earlier this season.
I know two wrongs don't make a right, but still. |

Was always going to happen especially considering it was live on TV, against a team the FA love in West Ham and was a bloody silly thing to do.
Have to agree tho, there have been things they've let slide this year yet they couldn't wait to slap a 4 game ban on the Jedi. |

so dawson almost decapitates speroni... nothing gets done.
pearson strangles mcarthur and then deliberately prevents him from returning to the field of play... nothing gets done. but jedi gets charged? i'm not condoning anything but the fa can get bent... |

Jedi's been banned for 4 matches with immediate effect after accepting an FA charge for violent conduct.
So he misses tonight, plus home games against QPR & Man City and the away match at Stoke. Link. Such a massive disappointment seeing as we just got him back. I'm going to assume that Ledley will be back in the starting XI tonight alongside McArthur? |

annoyed about Jedi but it was expected.
Pards makes the obvious changes with Jedi & Murray missing. the team: Speroni, Kelly, Delaney, Dann, Ward, McArthur, Ledley, Zaha, Puncheon, Bolasie, Gayle. Subs : Hennessey, Mariappa, Hangeland, Souare, Boateng, Gray, Ameobi. |

The logical XI I suppose under the circumstances. Glad Gayle got the start.

Looks like a decent team. However am worried as Southampton also look very strong.

0-0 at half-time.
the only real positive there is we're still level I think. |

I expected us to be under the kosh for long periods but I had hoped we would be better with the ball when we got it but so far our passing has been awful for the most part and our crossing (when we've had the opportunities) has been equally poor.

all over. 1-0 defeat.
maybe in the time between now & the next game Pardew can teach Zaha & Bolasie how to cross and shoot. |

Not the best of games from us overall and we gifted them the win.
McArthur looked really out of sorts tonight and Gayle was pretty much anonymous throughout. I did think Delaney had a good game at the back, though. Does prove that we are far from safe as yet. Next match not until the 14th, now. |

After the first half I would've accepted a 1-0 defeat as fair, but we were much better in the second.
For all their passing, they hardly created anything against us and really didn't look like scoring. Which makes it so annoying we eventually let in such a crap goal. At least we'll have the likes of Murray/Sanogo/Chamakh back next time. I think we're much better with a bigger man. |

we should never have lost that game last night... it's a point dropped imo...
...such a crappy goal to give away, what's with speroni suddenly parrying everything? bolasie and zaha must spend training sessions just brushing up on their tricks cos they sure as don't practice their crossing or shooting! |

last night's result not so bad now - Leicester, Burnley, QPR & Everton all losing tonight.
we're still 8 clear of the drop zone with 10 games to go. 6 at home, 4 away. |

QPR lose their game in hand to Spurs today so we remain 8 clear of the drop zone.
And with QPR the visitors to Selhurst next on the 14th we will have a golden opportunity to really pull away as Burnley play Man City the same day, plus it's Sunderland v Villa; and Leicester v Hull. |

Man a win on Saturday would be huge. And it sounds like it'll be a big crowd too. Could be a great one.

so best case scenario after saturday is we could be 11 points clear of the bottom 3 (we win and burnley lose) with only 9 games to go... worst case is we're only 5 clear...
...which would mean a draw might not be a bad result if burnley fail to win... we'd still be 8 clear with those 9 games left... |

Can we just take a moment to appreciate the fantastic job Ian Holloway did at millwall before he was sacked today.
He has cemented his place as a palace legend. Rest now agent Holloway, your work is done. |
