Ignore this! Turns out my dad is an idiot

Have to admit, I wasn't expecting that one to be picked. And unfortunately that rules me out of going now!

Just to confirm we have 3 live games on Sky before the end of September:

Sunday, August 16
Crystal Palace v Arsenal, 1.30pm

Sunday, September 20
Tottenham Hotspur v Crystal Palace, 1.30pm

Sunday, September 27
Watford v Crystal Palace, 4pm

Yeah those lunchtime kick-offs always feel far too early.

Watford away on the Sunday should be a good one for TV. We've done pretty well there recently, it's usually a fun away-day.

Great news about McArthur. He might get to line up in a midfield with Cabaye...

It seemed so unrealistic, but it's starting to look possible now!

I've been itching to post something but was afraid I'd jinx it! And I probably have now!

i keep checking all the usual places waiting for confirmation... what a signing this will be!

...and if we can follow it up with a striker & centre-back (without selling any one important too) before the season starts then our squad will be looking top notch...

Signing of Cabaye now confirmed by BBC:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33474027

I hope his no doubt enormous weekly wage will not upset the salary structure and unsettle the rest of the squad.

If we're moving forward I'm sure some of them will end up on pretty big wages soon enough. McArthur's already got himself a new deal, Dann's pushing for one with the Everton rumours and Bolasie too.

It's a pretty amazing day. It could all go wrong, but right now it's quite special.

Charlie Austin next, anyone?

Fantastic signing. Arguably the biggest we've made since Lombardo.

I trust Parish with many things but above all else it's the finances of the club. There is no way we would have made this kind of move if Parish & co didn't think it was affordable, whether transfer fee or wages.

But, it has to be said, Cabaye is not on the kind of wages that some websites/fans forums would have you believe, so don't panic!

so pleased with the signing... our midfield looks the nuts right now...

parish on talksport after the announcement also said we're working on 3 more signings although he did admit we may not get all 3...

..but best news was he said dann is not going anywhere and that hopefully a new contract announcement will be soon...

Cabaye, McArthur, Jedinak, Puncheon, Ledley, Bolasie & Zaha. not bad is it?!

great signing. very happy.

makes me laugh how some Newcastle fans are moaning and whinging and some trying to compensate by saying he's too old or it's too expensive. still obsessed with anything or everything Pardew does. embittered to the very end.

look forward to seeing how these other transfers that Parish mentioned pan out. fingers crossed one is a top striker.

half-time at Barnet. we're 2-1 up.

conceded a goal in the very first minute but 2 strikes from Dwight Gayle has turned things around in our favour.

A good workout. Gayle's second goal was an absolute peach.
