![]() ![]() Opened them up beautifully there. Nice and easy for Cabaye. |

full time. Norwich 1-3 Palace
a few decisions went our way there but I thought overall we were worth the win. |

Well, that was eventful! I'm knackered! Just 37 more of these to go!
![]() Norwich will consider themselves hard done by but they should never have got back in to the game in the first place. We were in total control at 2-0 and that was a poor goal to concede. Jury still out on McCarthy for me. Our options in midfield and up front are fantastic now. |

At times we looked good, but God it got scary in that second half.
McCarthy's nerves seemed to take over after their goal - his kicking was all over the place! But I'm suddenly much more confident we can score this season. We had some luck, but that's a great way to start. |

we will play much much better than that this season and lose so it's good to get the win and the 3 points.
I was surprised to see McCarthy get the nod over Hennessey but I hope Pards doesn't chop & change the keeper from game to game. |

Forgot to say that I'm loving Souare. I think he's well on his way now to getting cult-hero status.
Zaha just edged MoM for me. |

"It was a really good first game, all round really. After about five minutes I realised I'd picked the wrong team today. Norwich were brilliant for the first 20 minutes. "Sometimes your players have to get you out of jail, as a manager. I thanked them after the game. "Jason Puncheon was our best player today. Wilfried Zaha was great, but Punch was our best player last season and carried that on today." Interesting that he thinks he picked the wrong starting XI and honest of him. Agree with him about Puncheon and Zaha and I would add Souare to that list. |

Good game in the end. First half was definitely all Norwich, but seemed to really work after we scored. Thought that everyone worked hard, but bit concerned with Ward, never worried me last season and he made a few mistakes today. Hopefully just a one off.
As a replacement for Speroni, did prefer Mccarthy over Hennessey. Not sure how didn't close Redford down but, it happens. Cameron Jerome looked desperate to prove himself. All our goals. Damo's was well timed, loved Zaha's and cabaye's was brilliant. Second in the league and a good start to the season

good opening day win...
...norwich played well at times & we dug deep in the end... you could tell we need some time to gel with the new additions... we definitely need jedi or ledley sitting in midfield and giving the back 4 extra protection... norwich found a lot of space in that area especially that first 20 mins or so... pleased overall though... we're up & running. |

Good to start with a win even though a little fortunate with some key decisions.
Next up Arsenal , would like to at least get a point off them this season for a change , but no doubt Cech will have a blinder after his blunders today . |

A few rumours around about this. One is that City have offered to waive the sell-on clause for Bolasie, another is Gayle has said he's not interested in going there. There's also a few reports suggesting the offer is up to £10m! |

That's a strange one. I've never been his biggest fan but if he does go there that's one hell of a coup for Bristol City.

I remember growing up how we just never seemed to beat them. Apparently it's just 2 wins for us in our last 17 meetings! Although, it must be said our last meeting was a staggering 26 years a go!

That's staggering. Wonder how many of those 15 were wins for Shrewsbury though. Hopefully we've got better in 26 years, although this is the cup...hmm.
I was young but I do recall that period in the mid to late 80's when they became a bit of a bogey side for us. Time to put that right! |

It's quite funny, lots of older fans worrying about them being a bogey side and then a whole generation having never even seen us play them.
![]() I admit I'm in the second one. We haven't played them since I was 2. |

^ Whipper-snappers!
![]() On to our biggest bogey side - Arsenal. Now if there was any team we are due a win against it's them. Just 2 wins in 30 league games against them. We've lost the last 5 in a row, and in the last 19 matches it's 1 win for us, 3 draws and 15 defeats! The galling thing is even when we do outplay them we still get beat, i.e. last season at Selhurst. Surely the footballing Gods will smile on us against them at some point? |
