12/15 for me. Some real blasts from the past their. Makes you realise some of the talent we've had over the years.

Rumour is that Bournemouth have tabled a £5m bid for Glenn Murray.

today's team:
McCarthy, Ward, Delaney, Dann, Souare, McArthur, Cabaye, Zaha, Puncheon, Sako, Murray. Subs: Hennessey, Bamford, Lee, Jedinak, Gayle, Mutch, Kelly. Bolasie missing due to a family bereavement. not sure where Wickham is or Ledley again for that matter. |

full time: Palace 2-1 Villa
Dann with his trademark for the opener, really unlucky OG from Souare for their goal, then Sako with the winner. poor 1st half but we were much better in the 2nd half. a hard earned but deserved 3 points overall. |

Forget the first half, that was dreadful.
Interesting double substitution at the break by Pards with Mutch & Gayle replacing Zaha & Murray but it clearly worked. We showed much more desire and had much more impetus going forward and looked more in control. That was until they brought on Traore who was terrific. Great header from Dann, top finish from Sako (who impressed me in the second half), desperately unlucky OG. The disallowed goal - not entirely sure what happened but it looked to me that the ref & linesman had given it and the fourth official relayed something to the ref about it being offside who then went over to the linesman and between them they then disallowed it. The only way the fourth official would have known it was offside would be from seeing a replay. Are they allowed to use that to correct the ref's decision? Surely not? |

Top debut from Sako. No way would Zaha or Bolasie have scored like that.
![]() I like that we showed our new different options going forward - it made a big difference in the second half. I'm still nervous every time we defend though. With their goal, I think the linesman missed it being deflected and thought Gayle scored directly. Until they surrounded him and let him know it took a touch? |

from watching the TV stream the ref and the linesman had definitely given the goal despite the protests from Villa but then something changed, whether that was the 4th official getting involved was unclear.
at least it didn't effect the end result. talking about the defence, Joel Ward still remains well off his game. as much as I like Delaney we do need a younger commanding CB to partner Dann. |

Second up on Match of the Day tonight, maybe they might shed some more light on what happened with the officials with the disallowed goal.
I agree about Ward but to be fair to him no one played too well in that first half. Still concerned that Ledley is nowhere to be seen. |

pleased with the result and the 2nd half performance... thought our formation was odd in the 1st half but what i'm liking about pardew is he's not afraid to change things like he did at half time...
...thought sako had a really good debut, mccarthy looked more composed in goal, and another good game overall from souare... i still think we need jedi or ledley in from the start but what do i know?! |

hope to see ledley given a run out... i'm guessing hangeland & kelly will get a game with maybe murray and gayle up front? |

I think we're almost certain to see Jedi start, maybe Hennessey in goal?
Should be Murray and Gayle up front but Bamford could get a start. Team should be announced at 6.45pm. |

Good team.
Delighted to see Mariappa in at the back. Midfield looks very strong and Gayle alongside Bamford up front should be intriguing. Strong bench, too. |

1-1 at half time. they went ahead early, Gayle equalises from the penalty spot. to be fair it was a soft decision.

Souare on for Ward,
Mutch on for Jedi, the latter tweaking his hamstring. |
