When he finishes like that you can't help but wonder why he doesn't score more.

1-1 @ half time.
their goal was coming, we were starting to sit deeper and deeper, not closing them down quick enough. |

It's been ok, but we've been too sloppy when clearing our lines, too many wayward passes and being guilty of ball watching.
Zaha is sitting too deep and I'm not even sure where Sako is meant to be playing. |

our defence kept losing it's shape and we seem to struggle at defending set pieces which is unusual for us. Half-time came just at the right time for us. their tails were up.

I'd like to see Wickham come on. We need someone up front to hold the ball up.

Nice one! Thought we were going to blow it when Sako missed that glorious chance.
Much more like it in the second half. We cut out the sloppiness, closed them down a lot quicker and looked sounder at the back. Plus, once Wickham came on both Bolasie & Zaha started to really buzz. A terrific win. |

Zaha is looking brilliant right now. So good to see him doing it in the Premier League.

This is fantastic result! Had this and hol on refresh as was made to watch the spurs game with him in the pub. Well looking forward to motd, seems we are really getting our stride on. Hopefully with internationals we can come back with even stronger force.
On a side note, how much do Liverpool hate us atm. Ah well

Yeah, the confidence is definitely back. Felt he was too deep in the first half, but after the break he was much more of an attacking threat and gave their full-backs all sorts of problem. If only Sako had scored that chance, what a goal that would have been.

another great away day trip to anfield yesterday... this is becoming a habit!
...thought we started very well, tailed off, but then upped it again in the 2nd half. thought we deserved the win overall, also... really good to see wickham back and both zaha and bolasie looked in good form once more.... delaney was brilliant at the back. |

Still makes me nervous, but with the current owners staying on and Parish still with significant control, it sounds a lot better than other American takeovers.

I'm all for the investment, that can only be a good thing, especially as the ground really needs upgrading. But, I suppose it's what it could lead to further down the line that may be a concern.
Cheers Barney. The Kolo Toure comment was a gem! |

more from Steve Parish about the American investment. Quote:
"I would remain as the largest single shareholder along with David Blitzer and Josh Harris," he told Sky Sports News HQ. "The decision-making and day-to-day control will stay the same, but obviously there will be some fresh ideas and fresh input which is great.
"But I think the guys recognise that having a UK party and retaining the soul of the football club is very important and really important to me is that my three other partners will remain involved as well. "We'll have a much broader investment base, everybody's signing up to a commitment to improve the stadium financially, so we'll all put money back in, including me. "We simply can't stand still and enjoy a nice couple of seasons in the Premier League - that's simply not acceptable to me. The club's too big and has too much potential." Parish insists the deal is not a takeover, and has been impressed with the American pair, who are already involved with basketball side Philadelphia 76ers and NHL team New Jersey Devils. "They've fallen in love with the club," he added. "They were looking at other clubs but they've got a real affinity with the club, they understand it, they understand us, the ethos and the culture. "We have dot to the is and cross the ts and there is always the possibility of surprises but I would be hopeful of getting it done this side of Christmas. "No single individual will have the biggest shareholding, there will be a set of governance rules which means that Josh, David and I have to agree on the major issues and the budgets. "I'll be here running it day-to-day and I know that they just want success for the club." |

I'm intrigued by what the plans will be for the stadium. Will we see the Main Stand, Arthur Waite and Whitehorse Lane/Family Stand knocked down and rebuilt one by one? Or will it be a case of expanding and refurbishing what is already there?
