Looks as though Peter Ramage is set to sign.
Defence doesn't look so bad now, still a bit worried with just over a week to go til we kick off. |

Ramage would be a good signing. but as usual the big problems are at the other end. i cannot see anything else but a season of struggle unless we find a goalscorer.

Swindon 0-1 Palace, in our latest pre-season game. Jermaine Easter with the winner from the penalty spot.

Sorry to be pessimistic but if we are relying on Easter to score goals in The Championship on a regular basis we are in for a long hard season .

Our final pre-season match: Reading 2-0 Palace.
Jon Williams went off injured in the first half which is a concern. Link. |

another player out the door... Kieron Cadogan has been released...
link so, another season is now upon us... how do you all think we'll do? what are your hope or expectations? i reckon we'll do well to top last seasons finish of 17th... i just hope we don't get dragged in to a relegation fight again... |

No idea who'll play for us but its safe to say we have a new style of play..not sure if it will work for a whille though. |

Exeter 1-2 Palace
an Easter penalty and a winner from Dikgacoi sends us through to round 2. we went 1-0 down after only 2 minutes so good to see us comeback. |

Yep, good to get the win to give us some positivity before Saturday.
Add to that; Brighton, Millwall and Charlton all knocked out. Now that's a nice way to start the season.

Pleased with the win and very pleased to see us come from a goal down. Big banana skin that one so we negotiated it well.
We've drawn Preston away in the Second Round. |

A sad one Marrow. When we first signed him, he seemed like a great buy.
His injury seems to have knocked him out of contention completely - can't see him playing for us again unfortunately. |

Palace 2-3 Watford
i couldn't get to the game today and i'm glad i couldn't. even listening on the radio you could tell the tactics were all wrong again. 2nd half in particular we sounded awful. |

Just got back, awful performance. Hate to say it so early but I can't help thinking this could be a long old season.
I know that sounds silly after one game but we really did look poor in places and DF just got things all wrong in the second half. Deflated

second half was dismal, the tactics were rubbish... and if we had held on at 2-1 it would have been a total injustice to watford...
...jules had his worse game for us in years and many others were almost as bad... very little to praise overall if anything... |

Looks like it's going to be a repeat of last season , try to defend a lead for 45 minutes or so & then get punished for lack of ambition . Agree with Oblivian , think it's going to be a long hard season with little to show in terms of etertainment

As much as I love Dougie, it seems he really hasn't learned a lesson from the last half of the season..
The team has been crying out for a change of tactics - we have won 3 out of the last 24 championship games now. |

It was garbage. I can't often get to games on a Saturday afternoon and I came out of Selhurst yesterday actually glad of that fact. But I'm not going to be too down on everything (yet!) as it's only game 1 of 46 but clearly the tactics have to change, especially at home.

TBH I did fear it was going to be a case of us having all the ball but not creating enough.
However aided by your goalie for the first 2 I feel we managed to pull 3 points out of the bag. Vydra is a class act I feel..but then he is a Czech Republic international on loan from a top Italian club. Rather different profile to the average journeymen of Yeates and Garner |

Meh, reckon this'll be a season of safety but dull football (from us anyway). Can't see us going down, but the matches could become a bit of a chore to watch.
The beer sales will be doing a great trade at Selhurst, it's the only way to watch.

Good luck to anyone who made the journey to Bristol tonight.
Could this be the night we get a bit of luck at Ashton Gate? |

Two down after less than 15 minutes.
As I said Saturday, this is looking like a very long season ahead!! |
