Agree about Hennessey. He's clearly oozing with confidence of late.
And I'm sure Pardew will bring in two or three in January especially with the amount of injuries we keep getting. Hopefully Lee is back in the equation for Monday and that Sako isn't too far off a return. |

not the best of games or performances today but at least i had a good day out down there... as soon as i saw mutch & campbell were starting i knew we would have trouble scoring... both championship standard players... we really need to get another decent striker in once the window opens....
... thought mcarthur had another good game, as did henno and dann & delaney... but most of the others looked like they had too much to eat at xmas dinner... |

HT 0-0
dull & instantly forgettable half. the players need a rocket up them at the break. |

FT 0-0
2 games without Bolasie & Wickham and 2 games where we struggled creating much going forward. great chances for Bamford & Zaha late on and both should have scored and a good save by Fabianski from Hangeland's header but not much else. positives - 1 defeat in our last 9 league matches and 31 points at the half way stage of the season. |

Bamford should have buried his chance. Firing it straight at the keeper was a sign of a striker with low confidence.
It wasn't great, and it did once more show the lack of quality we have up front when certain players are missing, but we didn't get beat (I had visions of Sunderland in that second half) and it's another point on the board. Thought Jedi had an excellent match, and Hangeland stepped in to his role very well once again. Cabaye getting booked for such an innocuous challenge was disappointing, him missing the Chelsea game is a blow. |

^ No real surprise.
If we can offload Campbell, too, and get in a striker who actually knows how to put a ball in the net then I will be delighted. |

so Uniteds draw with Chelsea means we finish the year in 5th spot. pretty damn good all things considered.

I'm really glad that Bamford's loan has ended means it frees up a loan space for hopefully a striker who knows how to score or at least isn't afraid to.
Thought it was a pretty dull match all things considered, thought the back 4/5 (including Hennssey) were amazing just a shame no real threat going forward. Didn't like siggy coming on but glad he wasn't a super sub. The cards were odd. Cabaye never should have had that yellow for that challenge, however Hangeland several times could and should have had a few for the attacks he made on Gomis but didn't. Their number 2 (Amat) And 3 (Taylor) and cork definitely should have one. Souare I don't think deserved one either. In fairness to Swansea Williams was brilliant for them. Another 0-0 doesn't leave me with much confidence that we can score against Chelsea next week, but hopefully won't concede *fingers, toes everything else crossed* |

bamford's miss was a shocker.... all he had to do was slot it either side of the keeper instead of putting his foot through it... i won't miss him but to be fair to the bloke he never fitted in to our system so it was a strange loan to begin with...
...another xmas hangover today... defensively sound once more, think henno only had that one save to make... midfield worked hard but lacked the creativity... zaha got a lot of the ball but for some reason kept coming inside instead of taking on defenders out wide... chamakh still looks unfit, punch still looks lost a lot of the time... ...we really need a new striker but also to get sako back asap if yala is out for a month... |

Bamford really needed another season in the Championship.
We need to learn to play without Bolasie quickly, as our attack looks very predictable without him. Although no Wickham, Sako, or the option of Gayle doesn't make it easy and that's Cabaye suspended for Chelsea now too. The number of fouls on Zaha and Cabaye without a card was ridiculous! And then he gets booked for his first late challenge. Still we looks strong at the back and ending the year in 5th place is pretty amazing. |

It probably won't be Williams but a new centre-back will certainly be on the shopping list, if not next month, then definitely in the summer seeing as both Delaney & Hangeland will be 35 come the start of next season. |

As it's nearly January the BBC has made up a list of who might be moving. They suggest Dwight Gayle could be on the way out and have a long list of (to me, random) strikers who could be on Alan Pardew's list.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/35068763 No doubt other pundits would come up with a completely different list?

Agreed. A player I would have liked seeing in a Palace shirt.

That link is interesting, but agree with Tusk just anyone who can score. I don't mean the world class goals. We need a toe poker/goal hanger. The crosses our midfield put into the box be nice to have that Murray figure even Shipperley did that. |

There was a Palace fan on 5Live a few days a go who bought this point up - can you imagine this side with an Ian Wright, Chris Armstrong or Andy Johnson? Or to put it another way, a Vardy, Lukaku, Kane or Ighalo? We'd be frightening!

happy new year folks... here's hoping 2016 is as good as 2015 for us...
good to see pardew acknowledging the fact that we need to bring a striker in this month... ...no bolasie, wickham, sako, gayle, or cabaye for the chelsea game... think this is gonna be a tough one to get anything from... we have never done the double over chelsea before so history against us too... |

Sounds like Jonny Williams is back from Forest on loan.
He'll probably just play a part in the FA Cup team, but how exciting would it be to see him in the squad for Chelsea?

Always had a soft spot for Joniesta, hopefully he does get some game time.
Meanwhile, Pardew in talks over a new contract. This is a good read. Link. |

that would be great news concerning Pards.
as for Williams, unfortunately I don't think he has a long term future with us any more. I think he'll be sold in the summer. |
