No recognised striker and it shows, we have been poor going forward and we've made them look good in that half.

Our passing has also been downright atrocious at times.

Zaha's having one of his crap games.

We need new attackers quickly. Or Bolasie back even quicker.

we look like the side bottom of the table. it's a shambles of a performance. Zaha, Sako and Puncheon have been shocking.

I didn't think we could top the dismal performance we put in against Sunderland but this is on course to do just that.

FT 1-0 Villa

simply put, the worst performance of the season. simply put, we need new blood up front this window or we will struggle to finish top half.

Our worst two performances have come against the bottom two. Tonight was so bad I can't even begin to describe it.

But no worries, just Man City & Spurs up next.

just to add to the misery, that's 4 league games without a goal now.

Speaking as a Newcastle fan, this sounds all too familiar. Mind you we've just had a goalless spell McClaren too so... perspective.

complete garbage last night... got what we deserved.

...whether it's parish, harris or blitzer, someone better put their hands in their pockets and splash some friggin' cash in the next 2 weeks to sort out our attack... it's farcical now.

and puncheon really really really needs to be dropped...

I see BBS is in a bit of a hullabaloo right now about this rumour of a possible short-term deal for Adebayor.

I will admit to being disappointed if this is the best option we can come up with.

we're after Adebayor on a short term deal while Southampton get Charlie Austin for £4m??!! hardly ambitious from us is it?

anyway, todays team:

Hennessey; Ward; Dann; Delaney (C); Souare; Cabaye; Ledley; Puncheon; McArthur; Zaha; Wickham.

subs: Speroni; Kelly; Jedinak; Lee; Mutch; Chamakh; Campbell.

Sako out again with a slight strain.

Not expecting to get anything from today but a goal would be nice.

Can't believe Sako has taken another knock, we seem to have no luck whatsoever with injuries at the moment.

Really not looking forward to this, I don't think I can watch, so I'll let the bbc app tell me things. Happy Wickham is starting though.

Please karma football gods. Let us score. Thank you.

Delaney should have buried that. Huge opportunity blown.

Hennessey having a week to forget. Another error from him. Should have been a routine save. And the kicker is we were looking really comfortable.

407 minutes since our last league goal.

The scoreline flatters City but that doesn't hide the fact that the likes of Zaha and Puncheon are seriously under-performing once again.

Yeah Zaha doesn't look like beating anyone again today.

We hadn't been playing badly, those goals were so frustrating. We desperately needed to put one of those corner chances in though.
