Don't panic, it was definitely said tongue firmly in cheek.
Reports now suggesting that Dwight Gayle is to sign a new contract to keep him at the club until 2020. I did not see that coming.

I like Gayle but unless we're suddenly going to switch to 4-4-2 I don't see the point in keeping him.
Alex McCarthy at Fulham's training ground. a proposed 3 month loan deal on offer there. |

Hoping we can take the confidence boost of Saturday's cup win in to the game tonight. We really need to start winning in the league again.
Looks like no Ledley, another injury. Am hoping Lee gets another start. |

We need a win tonight I think, if just to stop any worrying after the transfer window.
Imagine the reaction if we lost to a Murray goal...

Cabaye doesn't make it. tonight's team:
Hennessey; Ward, Dann, Delaney, Souare; Jedinak (c), McArthur; Puncheon, Lee, Zaha; Campbell. subs: Speroni, Hangeland, Kelly, Boateng, Mutch, Chamakh, Adebayor. |

Dann with our goal. brilliant bit of skill from Lee in the build up. terrible defending for their equaliser. |

FT 1-2
another defeat. what has happened to our defence? they were our rock but in the last 5 league games they have been all over the place? how many poor goals have we conceded in that time? why the hell did we not strengthen in the window? |

We're in big trouble until Bolasie gets back. We're just so reliant on Zaha creating something out of nothing, it's crazy.
I feel really sorry for Wilf - he was brilliant again tonight and they clearly targeted him. Then the refs do absolutely **** all about it. |

So many things.
The ref, how can the same two challenges one on a Bournemouth player one on a palace player result in different outcomes. The challenger gets a card each or not at all both times. Punch. I have defended him for ages but wtf, if he hadn't have lost the ball they wouldn't have scored. Passing all over the place. Not knowing who he was marking. Just eh? We miss yala the most, but also miss cabaye. Danns goal plus lead up excellent. Ade, the man tried twice to score in the box failed both times. The bloody hairband. We will see if he improves. Was hoping to be wrong and he'd score a fantastic goal on debut. Alas no. Lee, why was he subbed? Played a blinder. I thought they did well. But really can't help feeling undone. We were the better side majority we just didn't take the chances or you know do anything with them. They did. Loved papa hitting the screen though. Their keeper had nothing to do till 83? Mins. Yeah. Why was lee so far in the middle when he'd have been far more dangerous on the wing. Ok. Ranted enough. Tl;dr: we deserved something. Plan b tactics not working. But we scored a goal! Woohoo. |

The overall performance was much better than of late, but we remain woeful in front of goal. Once again you could see the lack of quality we have when squad players come in. Campbell once again just ran around like a headless chicken, he seems clueless as what to do 99% of the time. Puncheon ghosted through another match, it's like every game is a pre-season friendly to him. Zaha was terrific, as was Lee. Both tried so hard, perhaps too hard, to make things happen. Quote:

Made me laugh when Pardew said in the after match interview that we made some good crosses, put plenty of decent balls across the face of the goal but we have no-one at the moment to stick the ball in the net. So why didn't we rectify that in January, why was Parish & co so reluctant to spend big on a top striker? One thing else, he won't say it in public of course, but in private I'm betting that Pardew can see that some of these players just can't cut it at this level and that we will have a pretty big overhaul in the summer. |

Thinking about Chamakh's chance may give me nightmares. He really should have put that away and we'd have gone away with a point.

playing puncheon is like having to play with 10 men... in fact playing with both puncheon & campbell is like having to play with 9 men...
...i could really have a long good rant about how we did sweet f.a in the transfer window to sort out the obvious weak areas but what's the point? seems we are all aware of what needed to be done except those that mattered. now all i think about is how this season could become a total bust because of it.... no longer am i thinking about getting between 50 & 60 points and having a serious crack at a top 7 or 8 finish, instead i'm thinking about how quickly we can get to 40 points so we don't have to worry about completely capitulating... |

Palace has had a really awful run of results in the League - but is still two points above Chelsea!

Pardew has just said in the pre-Swansea press conference that both McArthur (ankle) and Puncheon (hamstring) will be spending a bit of time on the sidelines with their respective injuries. McArthur is a blow, the loss of Puncheon might be a blessing in disguise seeing how poorly he's been playing.
Both Gayle and Kaikai are fit again and are available for selection this Saturday. Cabaye should be back, too. All going well Bolasie and Sako should be available for selection against Spurs in the Cup. |

Update on above:
McArthur has tweeted that he has torn ankle ligaments and his season is probably over. Gutted. |

I can't recall the last time where we had such a bad time with so many injuries. it's been a fair while.
I hope we get to see Kaikai given some decent game time in the next few matches or so. such a good talent. |

Adebayor starting! Kai Kai on the bench, but still no Gayle. Team - Hennessey, Ward, Dann, Delaney, Souaré, Mutch, Jedinak, Zaha, Cabaye, Lee Chung-yong, Adebayor. Quote:
