Stat attack!
tomorrow's meeting will be the 112th between the 2 clubs. that will make Watford the team we have met more times than anyone else. that is until we play Norwich in April as that too will be the 112th meeting. |

today's team:
Hennessey; Ward, Dann, Delaney, Souare; Zaha, Jedinak (c), Cabaye, Mutch; Wickham, Adebayor. subs: Speroni, Mariappa, Kelly, Boateng, Lee, Chamakh, Campbell. still no Gayle? no Kaikai either. |

HT: 1-1.
really soft penalty for their goal. If you give that you have to be giving 10 a game. great header from Ade for the equaliser. but overall our performance has been woeful. |

FT: 1-2
another defensive horror show costs us another game. same story every week at the moment. Our home form is just embarrasingly bad. no point looking up any more, we need to be looking down. |

That's the 8th home defeat this season , dreadful , as mentioned above if we don't start picking up points soon the R word becomes more & more a possibility

Seems like a bit of scrappy game with neither side being great (or maybe having the best of a half each) but we nicked the points.
Goodness knows where we would be without Deeney or Ighalo but our defence is fairly solid. Hope you guys are ok though! |

You were the better team in the first half, Mark, no doubt about that and you can count yourselves unlucky not to have been in front.
I did think the penalty was incredibly soft. As already mentioned, you see that type of grappling all the time throughout a match so to decide that one of those incidents deserves a penalty was hard to take. Adebayor's goal came out of nothing but what a great header it was. Second half we played much better and were the better of the two sides but if we're being perfectly honest here only Zaha and Adebayor were a threat. No one else in a Palace shirt stood out and Cabaye easily had his worst game for us since he signed. I can't fathom what has happened to us defensively. The mistakes we have been making these past 2 months are schoolboy level errors and it's become genuinely worrying. It's costing us game after game after game. How can Deeney be left completely alone like that for the winner? I said it last week (or the week before, I forget) but we have players there that are simply not good enough for this level. There does need to be a clear out in the summer, no question. Am I concerned about being sucked in to the relegation battle? Not yet, but that is more down to the bottom six failing to be consistent enough to catch us rather than us doing what's required. Oh, and one more thing... Souare = muppet! |

Adebayor must be feeling pleased he only signed up for a few months.
It's great to finally have a striker capable of putting that type of chance in, because other than him we were really poor in the first half. Today is the first time I've started to feel a bit worried about the league. |

Parish & the board really need to back Pardew in the summer. not doing so in January when we needed it was one thing but there's no excuse not to do it in the next window. one thing I do want to know about today is where were Gayle and Kaikai? not even on the bench again. |

That disappointed me greatly. I was looking forward to the possibility of both come on at some point. Not a clue why they were not involved at all.

especially as both would be better options than either Campbell or Mutch.

![]() I still don't get the pen, and Souare was doing final min in extra time you never do that challenge! Ade. It was well executed, I did clap, sing and shout so personally that's good for me he did seem happy to challenge and even run so massive positive there. It pains me to say this but we didn't deserve the 3 points and I thought that was a worsen Watford side to what I have seen of them this season, but they did deserve at least a point. Was impressed when Lee came on and I do think he made a difference. I felt Jedi was bad today, couldn't tackle without being overly physical. Usually his presence is enough but today I think he felt he had assert this, which led to foul vs giving the ball away. I do like him, but recently I'm not sure his performances have been great. I thought the ref was bad but equally bad for both teams, on many occasions he stopped play when playing the advantage would have worked better with the pace of the game. Zaha and Dann I thought were the best players today, but positive we scored from open play again! That's two games in a row, baby steps? |

really fed up with all this now... can't believe how crap we were in the 1st half, you'd think the players would have something to prove after the poor run we've been on and then they come out & play like that?!
...looked better 2nd half but i never felt we were gonna go on & win and it was no surprise when they scored... would love to see both boateng & kaikai given run outs... |

Well possibly. Hugo is injured and Vorm isn't a great replacement, however we can't really score. So possibly a draw?

Let's see...
Team morale at a season low. Confidence at a season low. Belief at a season low. A defence that's forgotten how to defend and concedes left, right & centre. A midfield that passes more to the opposition than its own team mates. An attack that is still impotent 90% of the time. And we're up against one of the best teams in the land right now. This has got 1-0 Palace written all over it!

i can't see anything other than a defeat... i suppose in cup football there's always a chance but i can't see us scoring let alone winning... and yet i'm still going!

Reading the list of players returning from injury who may be included in the match makes me worry a bit that they might be involved before they are actually fit. |

Pardew wasn't giving anything away in his press conference on whether Bolasie, Ledley, Sako or Gayle will be involved tomorrow. Hopefully we have Yala on the bench at the very least.
Martin Kelly will probably be the replacement for Souare. 5,000 Palace fans supposed to be going. |

5000 fans, a decent kick-off time, it should be great.
Now we just need the team to turn up. |

I do hope it's Marriappa and not Kelly as a replacement, but this will be a good use of plan b.
Not terribly excited about this as I was surprised with tickets in the home end! Maybe ade will score, read that article how he blames levy so may truly prove something. It'll be a difficult one for me, but luckily we're both hoping to knock the other out and we have a spare room if it goes to pot haha. Should be good and hopefully their defence is weary of us after the Jan incident
